RM: Scientific explanation of magic

Neal does this in his books all the time, but I wanted to point out the totally awesome scientific explanation of fantasy magic using the slightly futuristic (next Sunday A.D.) geological modeling. This is the kind of thing Neal does in all his books. Diamond Age also had fun things about nanobot cookie cutter bombs and coughing up nano bot dust. It wasn't central to the story, but it was a fun bit of world building.

I agree Jim it is something that makes his books fun to read. I just wish he had more story to back it up this time...
