@Philip (sarah)Thanks. My condolences to you. It's difficult judging when it's 'time'. She was 15 yrs old, so had a good innings.
Condolences to both Jan and Sarah. It's a horrible feeling losing a pet. I lost both my dogs within a few months of each other (they were 12 and 13). I lived alone at the time and they were both my constant companions. When I lost the second one so close to losing the first I ended up having to take a few days off work because I was so heart broken. Lucky for me I had worked there for a long time and my employers were understanding about it. Sadly, not everyone is sympathetic over the loss of a pet :(
@Jan, as an animal lover I feel for you. As my vet once said to me on one occasion as he escorted me out of the tradesmans entrance to avoid upsetting his other clients with my whimpering :It is the last act of kindness you can extend to your much loved pet and you should be proud that you gave your pet the best life possible and knew when it was time to say goodbye.

As someone said, "Your pets will all be waiting for you on the rainbow bridge." I always think of that when I see a rainbow.
I'm the same with a budgie or a chicken. People think it's strange taking a chicken to the vets. Sometimes they get better but sometimes they don't and just because they are usually farmyard birds doesn't mean we shouldn't do our best for them.Sorry to those who've had recent losses. They become part of our lives don't they?

Something to Read on the Plane from our local King Shaka airport. But fed up that they faxed the order on 31st October and I didn't get it! Only discovered the order when I phoned them this afternoon.

I've been reading David Gaughran's instructions on how to get an EIN via telephone. Makes a lot of sense and circumvents so many forms. Just trying to find the number for South Africa :(

Now getting ready for the print version.
The print version is now published :) But Amazon have not linked it with the e-book version and it's ended up in the 'environmental' genre on Amazon.com :( *sigh* Now awaiting reply from KDP as to what happened.
They'll get it sorted, Jan. My first book wasn't linked to the eBook for about a week. It looks as if you have no reviews!
Yes - the missing reviews! I've got 64 in the UK. I'm impatient to announce the launch of the paperback and don't want to do it until everything is in place. I guess I'll just have to learn patience :)
Had a reply from KDP saying they have linked the e-book and print versions - but it might take 48 hours to show up, and five days to get the reviews added. More patience required. Considering I have waited at least a year to see my trad published books in print you'd think I could wait a few days :)

One word describes this book BRILLIANT. Obvious that the Author Emigrated from UK to RSA. I and my family left Liverpool same as the Author for RSA also in the 70s.Every situation, Every Page related to EXACTLY what happened to ourselves as the Author experienced, even down to when we returned to the UK on Holiday. Both the Wife and I shed tears of Laughter. It brought back many memories. We also had the Wife's Parents out on Holiday and once again we relived the humour and wIt. Even down to the MELBA TOAST. EXCELLENT and once again BRILLIANT. A MUST FOR EVERY Ex Pat to South Africa to read

I read the book a few years ago and enjoyed it too. Even though I have never been to South Africa, I have some friends from there.
