I don't know about you guys but this book kind of bugged me 'cause when they spent the night in the maze you know that he won't die because there is so much more of the book and he is the main character and so he can't die at the begging or else there is nothing more to write about

Haha! Yha, sometimes that can be annoying. But also a little reasuring. I mean, we already knew there was a sequel so it wasn't that bad...but in some books it's a little redundant.
This trilogy is way too long. Half of the stuff we learn is redundant anyways. Too bad the last book is out already.
Ohhhhh, yes! I felt like the author set a word- or page-count goal for himself for the book and never edited out the unnecessary parts once he had reached it. But in the end it was pretty good.
I've totally loved these books and cant wait to read the third, Havn't read it yet as it's only avaliable in Hardback and I hate reading hardbacks. Ive just enjoyed the complete fresh and new imagination of Dashner.
i like when books are long because im always sad when they end so why not make them go on for a long time
Yes, especially new teen books are 250-500 pages. Honestly, I'm in highschool, it would take me a month to read a book that long... I have nothing against long books, some of them are great and need that many pages for a good story, but I find them difficult to get through before they have to go back to the library.
I have nothing against long books but if the book is filled with what I feel are pointless scenes, then we have a problem.
Length doesn't bother me if a book is good. Post apocalypse / dystopian genres are not my cup of tea, too damned depressing. That said I didn't find Maze Runner at 379 pages to be horrifically long. However, I doubt that I will read the sequels, I don't care what happened. Justin Cronin's The Passage at 784 pages was abysmally long. Talk about a page count and a book written for movie scenes. Neither of these books are my normal reads, I read them for a book club. There have been many books that I suffered a sense of loss upon finishing them, length didn't matter, but Maze Runner did not fall in that category.
I love long books as long as they are an interesting read. Compared to most of the books I read the Maze Runner and it's sequels are very short books in my opinion. I agree with Krysta, the longer the better

I love long books, but not too long. (Like some of Christopher Pike's books) Books that are too long take me FOREVER to read and I just get super frustrated, but if they're really good I won't mind. I love The Maze Runner, and It was pretty obvious he was gonna survive but that's what people want isn't it? The whole scene was great even if we did know he was going to live, Minho and Alby not getting killed was a surprise though.
I thought this book was relatively short...
The maze runner books are pretty short! Long books don't bother me, sure it takes a while to read them, but if the story is good then that really doesn't matter. It's when the story isn't good and there's still a lot more of the book to go that it's a problem.
yeah it is a bit annoying, like even if it is the ending of a book and you know there is a second book after... but it is reassuring :D
This book wasn't that long, it just felt like it because they held out the climax for a looooong long time.

I never thought about that lol. Honestly I thought I would have been able to read this book much faster but the klunky writing made it drag. The constant use of proper nouns drove me batty! The guy clearly doesn't know how to use pronouns.
