Louise,
He's not exactly a hero, but an essential character in the story(The Law of Similars)who is asthmatic.
I've not finished the book. Forgive me if it's not what you've had in mind.(Chris Bohjalian is the author.)

How about YA? The Immortals series...starting with City of Bones. One of the supporting characters has an asthma like illness.
Oh my. Do pass on the Immortals. I couldn't get past book 1. I've seen people mix up the Immortals and Mortal Instruments more than once, so it's pretty common Ladyhawk. :)
I'm ashamed I did that! But we had an earlier conversation about the up coming movie with Henry Cavill, The Immortals. That was just stuck in my head. Didn't even know about the book series with the same name. Thanks for the warning Stacia!
I'm pretty sure Henry Cavill's Immortals is different because he's awesome and much older than any characters in the Immortals book series.(swoon @ Henry)
I hate to say this but I didn't know it was a book, I just got really excited when I saw him in the commerical, the movie looks interesting though, he's a huge added bonus ;)
Ladyhawk wrote: "Any time I get to see that man in action is a huge bonus for me! ;D"He was adorably young and cute in The Count of Monte Cristo *giggle* :D
Gosh Louise I don't remember! I do remember one where he is very young with long hair and a braid, like a Scot, was that Count of Monte Cristo?
Ladyhawk wrote: "Gosh Louise I don't remember! I do remember one where he is very young with long hair and a braid, like a Scot, was that Count of Monte Cristo?"Hmmmm, I'm not sure what movie that was? Could have been Tristan & Isolde? (I"m sure he was in that as well)
He had very short hair in The Count of Monte Cristo? :D
Ladyhawk wrote: "Louise, how is it on your threads we always end up swooning over Henry?!"*LOL* I have no idea, but it's fun ;)
Watched Blood Creek again the other night...so much angsty goodness :P
Oh yes, it probably was Tristan and Isolde. You're good! Glad you reminded me of Blood Creek. I have not seen that one.
It is quite gruesome in parts...just so you know :OBut there is the bonus of shirtless Henry, so it kind of balances out ;)
Ladyhawk wrote: "Oh yes, it probably was Tristan and Isolde. You're good! Glad you reminded me of Blood Creek. I have not seen that one."Loved Tristan and Isolde. Both Henry and James Franco were hot in that one.
I haven't seen it yet :(It took me ages just to get my hands on a copy of The Count of Monte Cristo *pout* even the video rental place didn't have it, I ended up just buying a cheap copy off TradeMe :O
I'm still trying to find Adrien Brody movies and they are REALLY hard to find *headdesk*
I have to re-watch Tristan and Isolde, I didn't know he was in it. I <3 James Franco, its a good movie to rewatch!
I love James Franco too. (He especially made me love him for joining the cast of General Hospital as a reoccuring villian.) I've never seen Tristan and Isolde, though.
Ladyhawk wrote: "Gosh Louise I don't remember! I do remember one where he is very young with long hair and a braid, like a Scot, was that Count of Monte Cristo?"That was actually Tristan & Isolde. Wow did he make a dashing young figure in that movie. Definitely romance novel hero looks! :D
ETA: LOL I just read the comment about how all of Louise's threads turn toward Henry Cavill. She's used to it with me. ;-)
I will definitely keep my eyes open for these types of books. My new romance novel love, Holt McKettrick, from the McKettrick brothers series by Linda Lael Miller adopted a deaf baby whose parents were killed. I'll have to look through Linda's books to see if she ever wrote a book around him. She did Holt's daughter so there is a possibility!
Kelly wrote: ETA: LOL I just read the comment about how all of Louise's threads turn toward Henry Cavill. She's used to it with me. ;-)*silly hugs* that's ok, I'm always happy to talk about Henry, he's very very pretty :D
*mwah!*
Kelly wrote: "I will definitely keep my eyes open for these types of books."Thank you so much, you read a lot faster than me and you come up with the best finds! :D

Louise, being that you are in New Zealand, why is it so difficult to locate certain movies? Are you able to purchase say from Amazon or Gohastings.com? Or does shipping just get to expensive? Just curious.
I'm always happy to talk about Henry, he's very very prettyMy sentiments exactly!
I didn't know Franco joined General Hospital?? Was a fan of GH many, many years ago. Have not seen it in ages!
Shipping is bloody awful to NZ from pretty much anywhere, most of the time I try to find them for .99c or thereabouts on ebay and then end up paying anywhere between $10 and $30 just to get it here :(Most of the time I try to find them on TradeMe, NZ's version of ebay. But some movies are just impossible to find (especially with Adrien Brody, I had to dig through ebay for a long time to get my hands on Gumball 3000, Solo, and Harrison's Flowers *facepalm*)
I was lucky enough to find Monte Cristo on TradeMe for a good price (most are around $5) :)
And if I'm really lucky, the library might have it!
How about The Apple store? You know, as in ipod/ipad? I wish there were someway to get some movies to you. Marcella introduced me to a book sharing website in pdf. I think its 4share.com. I will verify it Louise! She shared a lot of books with me!
*heh* yeah, Apple in their grand wisdom decided that people in NZ aren't allowed to purchase movies and tv series from the US Apple iTunes store *sigh* sucks, yes? We're only allowed to buy music and games, that's it!
Oh, I'm totally with you there :OI have never understood why we can't buy movies, I mean, sure I can understand tv shows, but why movies?
If it weren't for my awesome friends sending me new shows to watch, I'd never get to see anything *glares at stupid NZ tv stations*
Kelly has just introduced me to Haven, and it's an excellent show, I'm loving it! :D
I get care packages with disks that have episodes and movies on them :)Some are recorded, some are just files (luckily my dvd player can play .avi files as well as being multi-region so it'll pretty much play anything I throw in it)
LOL! That is very kind of your friends! I'm glad they look out for you! Please post if you need/want something you can't find!
Hi!
Yesterday I read an excerpt of a book called Inflatable Men. It's written by Amy Ivan. I read what I could on Amazon, then decided I wanted to purchase. Unfortunately for me,the book is only available on Kindle.
I think I pouted. The book was funny from the beginning pages. The Heroine is a fashion designer. She learns she'll have to work closely with her ex-husband who is insensitive, but strangely attractive.
One day she is almost mugged for her purse and a purchase from a novelty shop. A beautiful man gets rid of the would-be thief and opens a friendly dialogue. They have a dinner date.
I was bummed, not being able to read more.
I'm pretty much just venting, however,if anyone has recommendations of printed books,I'd love to know.
I'm big on funny stories. Thanks.

I've not had much luck in my searches so far so I'm breaking down and begging for help again *sigh*
No vampires or werewolves please (I have a phobia...seriuosly, I'm completely scared to death of werewolves, it's irrational I know, but what can I say :O).
A quick edit...no rape storylines please?
