10. Did it surprise you that Sebastian could trace directly to Kaderin's location without having been there before?

Questions for Chapters 10 – 14
14. Kaderin is wishing Sebastian had never seen Riora? Sounds like the beginnings of jealousy to me. But he only had eyes for her. I like a hero in pursuit, but I especially like one without a roving eye. But is this realistic, considering Riora is a Goddess? Comments?
15. What do you think of the Hie rules? No outright killing until the final round ? Whoa.
16. Sebastian wants to win the grand prize and give it to Kaderin. Did you find it interesting that Sebastian didn’t realize the implications of Thrane’s Key for his own family? Is this because he doesn’t really believe time-travel is possible, or has lust/love clouded his brain?
17. Uh oh, I spoke too soon. At the end of Chapter 11, Sebastian pledges his sword to Riora! Knowing what little you do of vain her personality, will this give him an advantage in the Hie?
18. Why did Riora give Kaderin the hint about the blade of the blind mystic Honorius? Why did she agree to delay Sebastian and give her a day’s head start if he is her knight?
19. Do you like the dialogue between Regin and Kaderin? Assuming you’ve never been to a Russian Ice Station, in the Antarctica or elsewhere, did Cole give you a good sense of the scene?
20. Okay, I’m stumped, and admit I was wrong about Sebastian being able to trace to Katja because she is his bride. How is Sebastian tracing willy-nilly?
21. Well, Sebastian seems to be going about this the wrong way. Now he has pissed off Kaderin by helping Cindey and the kobold. And she’s turned violent. Not good. When will he learn?
Questions for chapters 15-19
22. So Regin met Sebastian. Not exactly under the best circumstances, was it? And it wasn't until he left that Kaderin attempted to explain anything about him to Regin. Why do you think she's trying to ignore what they have? Is she really against him being a vamp or is it something else?
23. What'd you think of the reunion between Nikolai and Sebastian? Will they ever get along again?
24. What a way to be woken up! Comments?
25. Personally, I thought the sword fight was hot...what an active type of foreplay ;) And then, he bit her. Do you think Kaderin might have been having a change of heart about him before his teeth grazed her neck?
26. Now that Bastian (I love that she calls him that LOL) has Kaderin's memories, do you think he'll fall in love with her since he may come to understand her more?
Questions for Chapters 20- 29
27. Is there a better way to get to know someone than to walk a mile in their shoes? And isn't that what these vamps do when they drink from someone, night after night dreaming their memories? This defitintely helps the "binding" process for Sebastian and Kaderin, yet it's not actually part of the blooding... in which no actual blood is involved. Does that seem strange to anyone else?
28. Tricky, tricky Bowen to bring out the diamond necklace at the perfect moment. He's really getting quite ruthless. And yet all this does is make me want to read his story more. What about you? Are his actions turning you off?
29. Why doesn't Sebastian even consider joining the Forebears?
30. Will knowing that Myst cleared the way by marrying a vampire soften Kaderin's objections a little? What did you think of the hot and heavy when the dragons were approaching? It looks like Sebastian's learning, I liked the bargains, first for the kiss and then for " a night of touching" :-D
31. Bowen has now been cursed at a time he needs his regenerative powers the most. And he kept staring at the witch Mariketa in Riora's temple. What is the deal with him and the witch? What will he do if he doesn't wint the grand prize and go back in time to stop his mate from dying?
32.OMG!! What did you think of Nix's prediction? Do you think there's any way for her to avoid her fate? Do you think Sebastian will be able to save her?
33. As for Chapter 24, *fanning myself* all I can say is “FINALLY!”
34. What is Sebastian's hang-up with his size about?
35. I enjoyed reading their discussion over the possibilites of time travel. It shows they have more in common than fate and chemistry. Sebastian's reaction to her theories (and to the fact that she's informed) was classic. Comments?
36. We still don't really know why Sebastian is able to trace to a person when no other Vampire can. Now that we're further along in the story, what are your theories?
37. Sebastian was NOT happy with Kaderin at the club in Colombia. Just when you think there's hope for them, this happens! They both reacted badly, but can you really blame Sebastian for issuing the ultimatum? Were you surprised with Gamboa's reaction to having Kaderin in the limo?

How does this change the way you see Nikolai?I don't think it does much -- he was a Warlord so undoubtedly had a ruthless side... and he was faced with losing his entire family, which can make anyone a little crazy. I would like to see some resolution between them in this book, though. It would be hard thing to forgive, for sure.

I would say definitely. It wasn't just the pain she couldn't live with, but the guilt. She has to kill vampires to make up for the one she showed mercy to.

I like it so far. I think I might get annoyed if the book keeps dwelling on it.

Doesn't seem like she could be that surprised, considering Myst's experiences as a multiple-blooder. (And wth is up with that, anyway? Kind of picks a hole in the whole "fated mate" dealie.) She seems to still be somewhat in denial about being his Bride, but hard to deny all the feelings!

Perhaps concentrating less on his mission and more on a relationship awoke feelings he'd surpressed and made him yearn for his family again?
I'm not copying the questions cause I'm on my iPhone and it never works right lol 1. I think Nicholai changed Sebastian with the best of intentions. I imagine he figured sebastian would eventually be glad he was still alive and would get over whatever resentment there was for changing him against his will. And no, it doesn't really change my view of Nicholai.
2. Yes , to me it seems like she blames herself and has been trying to make amends ever since.
3. As I said before, I'm kinda liking he's not this alpha male who has bedded half the females in the lore. I almost want to smack Kaderin for leaving him...he was this close *pinches fingers together* to getting what he always wanted.
4. I think Kaderin was more shocked that she wasfeeling something than that she was his Bride.
5. The floor was hot! I'm just surprised it happened so quickly.
6. I honestly don't know why Nicholai is just now waiting to find his brothers. Maybe he's looked before but really didn't know whereto look and now that he has access to someone who can see the future, he can better pinpoint where Sebastian is.

I know! Terrible thing to do, to make a life decision for someone against their will. It wasn’t like he was unconscious, he was adamant in his “No!”

I knew a set of triplets growing up (back in the day when they weren’t produced by fertility clinics) and they were very close. So, yes, I think she feels very guilty for Dasha & Rika’s deaths. And, I can understand why she would want to show vamps any mercy.

Nope. Love the bête heroes. I also like that Cole has made the Forbearers less knowable about the Lore than the other creatures within it. This runs throughout the books and makes it interesting as they try to gather info.

H.O.T. Unusual for me to like a scene like that so early in a book, but it worked for me.

I know. And, yeah, I think it is the same castle. Weird. Maybe he was worried that he wouldn’t forgive him. But, what? Does he now think 300 years is enough time/distance?

I must admit to being disappointed that Nikolai would change someone against their will, even knowing he did it with the best of intentions. I’m curious to know how Sebastian has been surviving though, hating what he is. If he’d really wanted to die, wouldn’t he have just starved himself?… hmm…

Even when he had the internal dialogue “what is happening to me” I was thinking, woohoo! We have a sensitive vampire that doesn’t sparkle :-) And he can make the heroine come with their clothes on was a bonus ;-)
