Stephen Anyone else notice that if they'd forgone all this nightingale/lark BS and just stayed in bed they might have lived happily ever after? I think that there's the real morale of the story.

Joanne Maybe even the moral of the story.

Stephen Or maybe even the morrel of the story? Always was partial to 'shrooms... and typos!

Joanne In their case (or there case or they're case) the mushroom was the Death Angel.

Stephen So that's three cases of 'shrooms? Anything else in your order today?

Joanne A case of wine, a case of mistaken identity, and a case in point.

Stephen Agggh! I surrender. Your pithy persiflage has carried the day. Perhaps this banter would have been better in the Language & Grammar group. No sense confusing the Shakespeare tyros.

Kirby that was a wonderful exchange- made me laugh and learn a new word!

Will IV Well done.

Joanne Gosh...

Kayla Win.

Bara Thank God that Shakespeare wrote Romeo and Juliet. Otherwise I wouldn't witness such humorous discussion. :D

Maggie Crawford +1

I couldn't agree with you more. I'm way to confused!

I'm very confused as well. What are we supposed to be talking about, again?

Stephen I started this topic to discuss the advantages of sloth. If R&J had just stayed in bed the world's most popular ampersanded expression would be PB&J. Instead we get this tragedy. That conversation degenerated / escalated into a would be witty exchange on spelling and double meanings. But please, feel free to comment on the advantages of Sloth in medeaval literature.

Savita Kalhan But there's no tragedy in Sloth!

Stephen Too true. Perseverance may eventually yield rewards but procrastination yields immediate rewards!

Pardon me, but I believe PB&J is a much more popular ampersanded expression than R&J. I, at least, have never heard the latter before.

As for "sloth in medieval literature", Shakespeare was not medieval, he was Elizabethan/Baroque.

You know, speaking of the advantages of sloth, I do believe it would have been much better if the Bard had been too lazy to write Romeo and Juliet in the first place. It is quite overrated.

Stephen I wonder if that's why they say "If it ain't Baroque don't fix it."

Actually the original comment was somewhat facetious. Sort of "tongue in chic"

Joanne Not to worry Stephen, I referred to a newt as a reptile in another discussion, and was quickly corrected. There are many sharp eyed smart ones on Goodreads.
