S1E4?

message 52: by Paula (new)

Paula (pauldajo) Sadly, I can no longer get ABC. I'm having an antenna put into my attic, so hopefully I will be able to view 'Once Upon a Time' in the near future.

SamBFN | 88 comments So do you think the Sherrif is bad, or just had to sleep with the mayor?

message 54: by Lauren (new)

Lauren I'm trying to figure out who the Sheriff is in the story book land. I admittedly haven't seen the latest episode though. I think he's good. He did question the mayor about why she was trying to get rid of Emma.

@Paula: I'm watching Once Upon a Time on hulu.com. Just type in www.hulu.com in your address bar. They have lots of different shows on there. If you search for this show it will come up and you can watch whatever episode you'd like for free with only a few commercial breaks.

I'm still not sure if the queens dad was suppose to be the huntsman or not. If not, it could be the sheriff.

message 56: by Lauren (new)

Lauren The Huntsman was my guess too. It would go along with his secret good guy vibe.

message 57: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 432 comments Maybe then he was killed in fairytale land and the evil queen gets her guy back in the real-world.

message 58: by Paula (new)

Paula (pauldajo) Thanks Lauren, I'll get on to hulu.com tonight. 'Once Upon a Time' is one of the few TV show that I really want to foloow.

Joseph (bluemanticore) | 8 comments There's just something that makes me think the Sheriff is the Big Bad Wolf, the one that hunts Red Ridinghood and her Granny. Remember, the Wolf pretended to be a nice guy, too, and was really a villian. Guess we'll have to wait to find out.

message 60: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 432 comments Could be, Joseph, could be.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments I'm thinking the sheriff is either the wolf (starting to doubt that) or most likiely the huntsman.

message 62: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Shera (Book Whispers) wrote: "I'm thinking the sheriff is either the wolf (starting to doubt that) or most likiely the huntsman."

Agreed. I think he's the only character that's currently not nailed down as someone though, so he could be a wild card too.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments that would be amazing if they made him a character that you just didn't see coming.

message 64: by SamBFN (new)

SamBFN | 88 comments After this week's episode we see he was the Huntsman. Know we know for sure the Evil Queen remembers.

Loving this show!

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments I'm bored with it.

After they did exactly what I thought they would. (view spoiler) It's like they just did it to give us hope and then they did exactly what they needed to to put the plot at the beginning.

The urge to watch has stopped. I keep thinking if I just watch one more episode . . . I feel like this is going to be another Lost disaster.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments I should update my stance and say that after the Beauty and the Beast episode that I'm all in!! Rumple is so yummy.

I went back and watched the episode with the queen and the genie. It's driving me crazy that there's no clue as to why she's so evil!! How could she Snow White have ruined the Queen's life when the Queen had her (view spoiler)? Don't tell me it's because Snow White had all her father's love and the Queen felt slighted.

message 67: by SamBFN (new)

SamBFN | 88 comments I thought the Beauty and the Beast episode was brilliant. This week's episode was pretty blah.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments Yeah, it was back to same-old/same-old. However, I know I'm in this to the end now. It's the beauty and the beast disease!!

message 69: by Heather (new)

Heather T (horrorvacui000) | 5931 comments Mod
It's the love thing Shera. Little people feel need to have attention lavished upon them constantly and sharing the spotlight makes them petty and stupid. The more insecure someone is, the more it gets to them. It's always your fault and never theirs.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments Great way to put Heather.

I just . . . can't imagine that is really where the whole thing starts from!!!

message 71: by Tya (new)

Tya | 846 comments That Beauty and the Beast episode slayed me. Just killed me dead. And what is this secret world that Evil Queen has under the hospital??

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments Looks like the psych ward. After how many tv shows and movies use them for evil you'd think people would start looking there.

Did she seriously just stand there and yell Henry w/o even running toward him?
I can't believe when shows do that.

1 more episode to go...

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments I couldn't bring myself to watch the final episode. I watched the second to last one, but I missed the previous 2 before it. *sigh*

I'm so behind on everything.

SamBFN | 88 comments The ending put a whole new twist on it for next year. Should be interesting to see the direction the show goes as it was so unique this year, hopefully they can keep the originality up.

message 89: by Brianna (new)

Brianna (briannask) | 35 comments What did you think of it Heather? I loved this season but like you said Sam hopefully they can keep it original. I kind of felt like the season finale ended suddenly and then they just threw in another something extra to keep the series going.

Heather T (horrorvacui000) | 5931 comments Mod
I'm sure that's where they intended for it all to go. I was more disappointed in the apple thing. It's so well known that I couldn't believe they dragged it out for almost an hour.

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 1272 comments season four is okay.

message 92: by Tya (new)

Tya | 846 comments Season four is making my inner (and outer...) shipper a happy camper. I am firmly riding the Captain Swan. So I'm loving all of the little moments between Hook and Emma. I was a bit leary? weary? Side eye-y? when they jumped on the Frozen train but its been my favorite part so far. I love Elsa and the Elsa/Emma friendship. I also love the Snow Queen so much more than the Wicked Witch from last season.

But Regina? Needs to go.a.way. Her and her constant mourning for her "one true love" need to get the heck out of here. And why, exactly, is Emma suddenly desparate to be friends with this lunatic? Come now. Go and be besties with Elsa, enjoy your parents, son and the adorable and super hot Killian and tell Regina to gets to gettin'. She is too far gone to be redeemed so I wish they would stop the redemption storylines.

I think being a Screenwriting major is ruining shows I once could love love love. I see lazy exposition and flat characters now that I didn't see before. I feel like its loosing some of its juice and mystery. But I still love the show so I continue to watch.
Regina s still one of the most interesting and deep characters IMO.
Always hated Emma she's like the adult version of bella swan to me her acting is very flat IMO.

message 94: by Tya (new)

Tya | 846 comments You know, Chakara, I used to think that Regina was interesting but she's not growing as a character! And now I'm just---over her. Just, so very done with her. This season she's literally having a hissy fit because Emma prevented her from murdering someone? And no one is pointing that out? It feels like in order to keep Regina in "shades of gray" morality wise (instead of out and out villain black) they have to dumb everyone else down.
I've never seen Emma as a Mary Sue kind of character. I love her backstory and wish that the show would spend more time on it. I liked that they touched on Emmas abandonment issues last year when they were in Neverland and Emma admitted that even though she has Snow and Charming now she still feels like an orphan--and I LOVED when Snow admitted that she wants more kids because even though she has Emma she doesn't feel like a mother. Little moments!

I liked season 2 that was my favorite I think since then its been steadily getting worst. They are running out of steam. I have no idea where they are going to go next season. If they hadn't have gotten the license to adapt the Frozen characters into this season there probably wouldn't be a season.

I think Regina is growing Gold on the other hand is in a weird limbo space. That shakespeare-esk exposition he gave at the beginning of the first episode of the new season made me feel like the writers thought that I was dumb or that they had writers block and just wrote something and was like here ya go lets shoot it cause we have a deadline.

message 96: by Tya (new)

Tya | 846 comments I think with Gold is exactly what he's always been portrayed as--a full fledged, mustache twirling, villain. They have given him backstory--some sympathetic, some not--but they haven't changed who and what he is. With Regina--she's who I think the writers want me to be stupid for! They haven't given her a shred of sympathetic backstory or current story for that matter and yet when I watch the show its like they want me to empathize with her. So, Charlie, not doin' it!
Like, ok. Little Snow told a secret--not cool Snow. That secret had some MAJOR consequences no one is saying that it didn't. Regina's first true love died because of it. But Regina vowed vengenance on a CHILD who was trying to help her. And then, cursed the entire world in her quest for vengenance, murdered entire villages has been shown to rip peoples hearts out (even though she's on a redemption arch) and has kept Sidney (the magic mirror) enslaved for the past however many years. I don't know if its the writing, the directing or the acting but I feel like someone wants me to see Regina and want to give her a great big hug. And I do. If "great big hug" is another phrase for "Slap upside the head". Its like...her actions haven't had consequences. Even Snow and Charming are sympathetic to her now. No, show. Bad.

I have no idea where the story is going either. And when its firing on all cylinders thats a great thing in a show. But, when their treading water---its not so hot. But, I'm easy. I'll take my Captain Swan moments and fast forward through Reginas nonsense.

I liked hook until this season. He's loosing his essence IMO. But then again I don't like emma not sure if its the actor or the character but I'm siding with Regina on this one Swan has a hero complex and doesn't think her actions through in my mind she's on the opposite side of Regina but it all the same Regina didn't think about her consequences and neither does Emma she just runs off "I'm the savior everything I do and think must be good and right and true."

I haven't seen the latest episode because I'm watching on Hulu but I'm thinking Robin Hoods wife is not waking up because she's not supposed to be there she's supposed to be dead whether it was for the good or not you don't mess with the fates.

message 98: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 1272 comments Also yes I agree Gold is essentially the same person even when we think he's been redeemed. I can't wait to see what Henry does now that he's working with him. when Henry played pan he was so deep but I think he's going back to his card board character arc now.

message 99: by Tya (new)

Tya | 846 comments I don't think Emma puts any thought into what she does--at all. Ever. But, I think ultimately thats the premise of the show. She's been alone her entire life, even when she's with other people (Neal, Graham, Henry to a certain extent) she's alone. What she's done and been in the past has never effected anyone else. But, now that she's The Savior I think on the one hand she's trying to live up to that moniker but on the other hand she's still learning that the things she does have consequences.
I think thats why I like Emma/Hook so much they have to learn how to open up to each other. As for Hook--I kind of think that he's getting basic Disney treatment. He's all about Love. He signed up as Killian Jones to be a part of the Navy out of love of brother and love of country. When his brother died--basically at their kings(?) hand (retrieving those berries or whatever that the king wanted)he closed up his heart and acted out of anger and hatred. We're told that he loved Mila (we didn't see enough of their relationship for me to have an opinion on that other than she's an awful person so how could he really) and when Gold killed her (did he? I don't remember) he closed up his heart for 2 centuries and focused all of his energy on hatred. Now, he has Emma again and for the first time in a long time he has to learn how to love again. I dunno. I like him. He's all pretty and shiny. I think he and Emma go very well together. Their both very broken people. I think that this season, with this relationship there should be alot of emotional notes from the two of them, and I like both actors. I think that they both do subtle small moments well--like in last weeks episode when Regina said that they make eyes at each other they looked at each other and it was an eye rolling moment that very quickly went into a mushy moment that went into she can't be right! moment all within seconds. All in a glance. I like 'em Chakara.

I don't think Henry is going to go back to being cardboard. I think that he's going to be a total thing about nature vs. nurture. He's Emmas son. She's The Savior and whatever. But he was raised by Regina who is the Evil Queen (except for when they try to redeem her. I think I'm supposed to not remember that...). Emma is the product of True Love but its pretty ding dang obvious that Neal was not. And he was kind of a turd. So I think that they could be leading Henry somewhere interesting--He's all gungho about helping Regina find the author of the book and presuading him to change her ending--he knows his mother. He knows she's not going to bake him a pie and ask nicely. He's working with Gold. And, my memory is messing with me but I feel like when he went to Regina's lair to get the box for Marian's heart he passed other boxes chock full of hearts, or the dungeon that still had people in it or something hinky and he didn't blink at all.

lol I wouldn't touch those hearts either just saying. Know telling who they belong to or what hexes may be down there. I hope he doesn't become cardboard. I think a lot of people like captain hook as they call it. Hopefully something will happen to change my mind but I doubt it I've always felt like Emma was full of it from the moment she came to storybrooke I guess I have a little evil queen in me ah well its fun being evil. :)
I agree with what Regina said when she said that Emma just wanted her to make her feel better about ruining her happily ever after. She had this annoying look of pure enjoyment on her face when she saved Robin Hoods wife like oh yes more pats on the back for meeeee. Meeeeeee the SAVIOOORRRR I did it again. Yeah I know you all told me not to mess with the past but what evs! It meeeeee.

Even before coming to storybroke she tracked down the bad guys in super hero fashion. Hero complex in the worst way I tell ya.

You can kinda tell I'm not a believer in the true love thing though I really don't care for Charming and Snows relationship either. I've always watched for the spins on fairy tales and the cleverness.

At least its not Elena and Stefan oh god how I hate them. lol
