David Santos (authordas) | 11 comments I started to edit the description to the first few Goosebumps books to match the ones on the actual books back cover, but I came to realize all 62 have different descriptions than the books. I'm curious as to who and why they did that? They still match the book, but sometimes the descriptions on here give away more info than is needed or don't tell enough about the book.

Yasmin (ballendai) | 4 comments Probably this is an example of what you're saying.
Maybe it's because in the back of that edition of the book it was written that and then the actual description of the book. In other editions like this one, it looks just fine. Keep in mind that not all descriptions are copied from the books, and that some people write them themselves or take them from elsewhere, so that they may be a little too informative or may not really say nothing at all, so if you want to, just change them.

Sandra | 31506 comments I quite like when books have different descriptions for different editions. As long as they are accurate there is no need to have them all the same.

vicki_girl | 2764 comments I agree that if the description is accurate, there is no reason to change it, even if it doesn't match the back of the book.

However, the first book you linked Sil should probably be changed. The description appears to be for the Classic Goosebumps reprint. If the description doesn't match that edition, it needs to be corrected. :)

It likely came from Amazon/Barnes & Noble that way. I believe the publishers supply the retailers with a description when they print new editions, that may or may not match the back of the book. (Amazon sometimes uses a professional review instead; which should be corrected to a more generic description.)
