Nikoline (annenikoline) Today when I visited my local library to pick up some books for my Rory Gilmore reading project, but I cam across some other titles including Watership Down by Richard Adams so I began to wonder what else, beside the long list of title Rory reads in the TV series what books would she read?

So this is my question to you. What else would she read? Any specific titles you have come by?

Maryellen This title came to me thinking of the last show of the series. Rory had gotten a job with an on-line magazine where she would be reporting from the Barack Obama campaign. So after the election when "Game Change" by John Heileman and Mark Haparin came out I would think she would read these reporters thoughts about the campaign. Maybe this doesn't fit into what you had in mind for the question but I thought it would be a fun speculation!

Nikoline (annenikoline) It fits perfectly as long as that's what you think Rory would read. I did some short research about the book, because I didn't know anything about it, and I can see why you would mark it as a Rory Read. Good job!

Nikoline (annenikoline) Another book I thought maybe Rory Gilmore would read would perhaps be Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro and The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. What do you think?

I definitely think those books would be something Rory would read. They aren't "vampire fiction" and have some substance to them. Good job!

Thank you! It was for the same reason I thought Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro would be somethine Rory would read. I'm glad you agree.

Yes, I think she would've loved "Never Let Me Go", most likely!

Nikoline (annenikoline) I think you're absolutely right, Agness.

Cathy | 2 comments I was suprised not to find any Yates on the list. With her liking Sylvia Plath and similar, Yates writing about suburban America, especially the tortured minds of the Wheelers in Revolutionary Road would be right up her street.

Lori Walker This might be stating the obvious, but I would imagine that she would read the other books by authors mentioned--the rest of Faulkner's books, Fitzgerald's, Dickens's, Twain's, and so on.
