Actually, I was just reading the myth of King Minos, Theseus, and the Minotaur. King Minos is in charge of the labyrinth that holds the Minotaur. This makes sense in relation to Minho of The Maze Runner because Minho is the only one that truly knows the in's and out's (or at least before Thomas found the exit) of the Maze.
I KNOW WHO MIHNO IS NAMED AFTER!In Greek mythology, Minos is a king of Crete, son of Zeus and Europa. Every nine years, he made King Aegeus pick seven young boys and seven young girls to be sent to Daedalus' creation, the labyrinth, to be eaten by the Minotaur.
Does that not sound a little too connected to just be a coincidence?!
Just a guess but i think its the closest we will get!
^if not that then look at this!In Greek mythology, Minos is a king of Crete, son of Zeus and Europa. Every nine years, he made King Aegeus pick seven young boys and seven young girls to be sent to Daedalus' creation, the labyrinth, to be eaten by the Minotaur.

minho (as james has said probably more than once) is named after a scientist in the future, because as we all know this happens many years forward in time and there will be many scientists to come and james just thought it would be more interesting.
lol is it really that hard for u guys to figure out tf the kind of name Minho is? Minho is just a normal korean name-- no historical background or story whatsoever. I just think the author wanted to be more creative and realistic by giving him a non-american name unlike the rest of them. when i found out his name was minho, i automatically thought of lee minho or like choi minho XD. Im just quietly fangirling in the theater cuz them korean boys thoooo. He fine.
Thomas: Thomas EdisonTeresa: Mother Teresa
Newt: Isaac Newton

Zart: Mozart
Ben: Benjamin Franklin
Chuck: Charles Darwin
Jeff: Thomas Jefferson
Frypan/Siggy: Sigmund Freud
Rachel: Rachel Carson
Sonya: Queen Sonja of Norway?
Harriet: Harriet Tubman

Stephen: Stephen Hawking
Ok, I think I got it for Teresa Agnes. Mother Teresa's first birth-name was Agnes. So, that makes it Teresa-Agnes, like when a wife adopts her husband's name and keeps her own also, like Mary Scott-Smith. Instead, it's the first name, with Teresa-Agnes.
minho would not be minos...no h and i highly doubt they would choose the guy who chose to give up everything for gold...however, that is the closest figure of history to minho
People always ask me who Minho was named after. Well, I purposely did that: because the story is set pretty far in the future, I wanted to have at least one or two names that we don’t know, so it’s someone who doesn’t exist yet. apparently in interview
Minho is from king Minos I guess. Minho is a south korean name, and i dont think there is any famous South Korean scientist called Minho.

Frypan is a nickname. his real name is Siggy and he is named after Sigmund Feud. Also, James Dashner explained that he want a few names that might be from the future. one of the names he metioned was Minho, but you made a good guess.
I was Watching a interview about Ki Hong Lee, the actor of Minho. He said that James Dashner's neice has a husband who is Korean, that's why he put it in the book. Ki Hong Lee said he was very fortunate because he is also Korean and his character he was playing is Korean, so it can maybe be that.
Thomas: Thomas EdisonNewt: Isaac Newton
Minho: I read somewhere he is named after the man who will discover the cure for cancer in the future. Afterall this is a dystopian book so even we don't know yet. James Dashner chose this name after his niece's husband.
Teresa: Mother Teresa
Gally: Galileo Gaillei
Alby: Alby Einstein
Zart: Mozart
Chuck: Charles Darwin (A common nickname for Charles is Chuck)
Winston: Winston Churchill
Frypan: Apparently his real name is Siggy so he is named after Sigmund Frued
