I read this book when I was very little and I loved it.

It about a girl whose family immigrated from Ireland during the potato famine. It was written in diary format, and was mostly about the boat ride over and how her family coped with the crowded conditions. I'm not sure but I think her grandmother might have been getting weaker and weaker throughout the trip. The book had a light blue cover with a portrait of the girl, and she had brown hair.

It is not the book in the Dear America series that is also about a girl from Ireland.
