What do you guys think of it so far?
I have several of her other books and they're very quick reads, but full of interesting facts and trivia.

I just finished rereading Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers, which also told me how to mellify a corpse, by the way. After that genuinely funny and absorbing book, How to Mellify a Corpse: and Other Human Stories of Ancient Science and Superstition seems VERY dull and lifeless. I will finish it...eventually, but right now, it's languishing on the bottom of my stack.
Just about done with the book. Definitely a fun read full of interesting tidbits. It reminds me of a catalog giving me hints of topics that I would like to delve into deeper. On the downside, I wish the author wouldn't try so hard to be funny. The wit comes off a bit stilted. On the upside, I have co-workers waiting in line to read this book once I am done. That never happens!

I notice my husband seems to be enjoying the book much more than I am."Melki, I have never read Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers so I don't have that perspective to compare the two books with. I definitely will read Stiff; I have heard a lot of good reviews about it. My view on How To Mellify my completely change once I can compare the two.
