Erin (rollingsreliable) | 5 comments This is terribly vague, but I'm hoping the basic premise will trigger someone's memory? It's a book or a short series (certainly no more than a trilogy) that's an update of the Frankenstein story (or a sort of sequel - I think the protagonist was somehow related to the original Frankenstein). I think it's about a girl whose boyfriend dies and is resurrected. I think there's a journal involved (as in, they have Frankenstein's journal and that's how they recreate the experiment or something?).

I'm not sure how helpful this is, but I'm pretty sure I read them around the same time as Christopher Golden's Body of Evidence series, and it had a similar "soooo edgy!" tone to it. I read it/them around the late 90s/early 00s, and I think they were new at the time.

Thanks for any help!

Erin (rollingsreliable) | 5 comments Yeah, most of my googling brought that up, but this is definitely a book that takes itself waaaay more seriously than that.

Erin (rollingsreliable) | 5 comments Aha! I gave up on Google and just searched every book on Goodreads with "Frankenstein" in the title or description - that's desperation! Turns out it's Richard Pierce's Frankenstein's Children series. And now that I know that I can happily never re-read them because they were terrible.
