I am really excited about this group. My husband and I became addicts of GG during the last season and bought many of the old seasons to catch up. I am an avid reader and was really excited to see a book club devoted to one of my fave shows. Just an aside, my husband and named our mini dachshund, Babbette after the show so that her name would have significance to us.

Hahaha! At least it wasn't Cinnamon! (That was Babbette's cat that died in the first season and for whom they had a wake.) Babbette... that's so great! Especially because it is a mini dachshund because Babbette was so short and had that miniature house!
You know what is even more cool? That your husband liked it, too! Rock on!

My husband got hooked when I was ordering them from Netflix and he would come in and say, "What's new with the girls?" Hilarious! I think they are addicting to both genders and have things that appeal to both.
Hey there Jen. Not trying to hijack your thread, but I figured why not keep it themed...I, too, am new to this website (this post is my Dean) and was stoked to find this group. I will be here often! My sister got me hooked on what I thought was a "chick" show. What a stupid male I can be sometimes.
BTW, Luke all the way!!
Welcome newbies! I feel like we should hold a town meeting to get all acquainted. I'll bring the snacks! I know Sarah will come as long as there's a Kirk. (heh)
Hi Jen! I love that y'all named your dog Babette!! That's hilarious :)And hi Jondice77! Glad you found your way here!
I'm a newbie too. I think we'll all have fun talking about the books--can't wait for the November decisions!
Babette- thats awesome! My sister has a daschund, a full size one, he has quite a personality and his own myspace page-lol! Looking forward to reading with you.

Hello!I am new to this group and pretty new to the site as well.
I was really excited to find this club, what a great idea to combine reading and GG together!
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Jen -- had to laugh -- my own mini Dachshund is actually named Mugsy but the daughter who hooked me into GG and is the one who is responsible for my getting the doxie calls him Paul Anka because he has many of Paul Anka's traits we are discovering.I'm the old folks here but just thought I'd hang around -- sure miss the GG gang and the weekly wrap-up phone conversations with my daughter -- but GG "talk" is part of life now even though the show has ended.
Geez Meghan, now I really am in need of a Kirk fix! Does anyone know if Kirk's Town Tours are still operating?

Hello to all the new members!I'm really looking forward to getting to know you all and chatting about some good books. This is a really fun group, I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. =)
Great idea for a group! I miss the girls, the witty banter and the onscreen presense of a book nerd like me. I am completely in with this group.
OMG Kirk is ridiculous, ridiculous love. That man is hillarious. I'm new to the site so I just wanted to say hi!
Welcome Marlo, Dottie, Stephanie, and Dee! And also to any lurkers! Please post! The book we're reading this month is fantastic so I hope everyone will get involved and we can get some really good discussions going.
Hi there to all. I too was elated to see this site. I miss GG so much! Anyways, glad to be a part of the group. Looking forward to any and all discussions pertaining to Gilmore Girls and of course books!
Nicole, The Time Machine is by H.G. Wells. We've been trying to pair a contemporary book with a classic each month. Last month we did it with Wicked and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and it worked out pretty well. Please do participate, we have a ton of members in this group but very few are chiming in.

Hey there Sarah:
I will do my best. Sorry, reading many books right now...particularly on memoir writing. I really have been wanting to read The Time Traveler's Wife. I hope to get to it soon. Thanks for telling me about The Time Machine...I did check it out after I wrote the comment.
