Netgalley and Kindle question

So for those of you who own a Kindle and use Netgalley, do the ebook galleys expire when you upload it to your Kindle? When I download the .epub files from Netgalley and open them using Adobe Digital Editions, the books expire after 55 days.

I haven't had one expire yet and I have had some for a few months. I noticed Barbour books dont seem to expire like they use to. Some of them are harder to read on the kindle unless I change the orientation.

I wonder why they expire if you download a .epub version but not on the Kindle? That doesn't seem fair!

I know before I got the kindle some of Barbours came without the expiring info. I have only had books from about 4 publishers and one or two were cos I was doing a blog tour.
