The following is from the Glens Falls Post-Star newspaper, 10/23/08, and was written by Maury Thompson:~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Barbara Caimano, a library trustee from Queensbury, said she was astounded a few evenings ago when she was coming in to downtown and saw the lights on inside the new library for the first time.
'It looked like a giant cruise ship parked right there in City Park,' she said."

What a grand metaphor: "A giant cruise ship"!
What treasures it holds!
P.S. The newly expanded library re-opened on Dec. 11, 2008. It's beautiful!
Below is the latest photo I have of the newly expanded library:

This is the photo which comes with our library's eBulletins.
For old times sake, below is a photo I took of the side of the library on Glen Street (before the expansion).
(2005) (Click on thumbnail for a larger photo.)As you can see, there was a tree there.
Now, where the tree was, there is a beautiful three-story addition to the library. No more tree... but more library!
Today I uploaded a few photos of our town's library to the "photo" section of this group: ====>http://www.goodreads.com/photo/group/...

The very modern additions and the older section of the building blend together very well.
Scroll down at the webpage to see the "before and after" photos. So exciting! I can't wait to see the inside of the building and to enjoy the view from the large windows overlooking our lovely City Park. I especially love the gazebo. See the following link:
