The new additions to our library in Glens Falls

It won't be long before the new additions to our Glens Falls library, Crandall Library, will be finished. This is an exciting time for all of us. Yesterday when I drove by it, tears welled up in my eyes. It is so beautiful and so impressive!

The very modern additions and the older section of the building blend together very well.

Scroll down at the webpage to see the "before and after" photos. So exciting! I can't wait to see the inside of the building and to enjoy the view from the large windows overlooking our lovely City Park. I especially love the gazebo. See the following link:

The following is from the Glens Falls Post-Star newspaper, 10/23/08, and was written by Maury Thompson:

"Barbara Caimano, a library trustee from Queensbury, said she was astounded a few evenings ago when she was coming in to downtown and saw the lights on inside the new library for the first time.
'It looked like a giant cruise ship parked right there in City Park,' she said."

P.S. The newly expanded library re-opened on Dec. 11, 2008. It's beautiful!

As you can see, there was a tree there.
Now, where the tree was, there is a beautiful three-story addition to the library. No more tree... but more library!
