Jackson Spence (iamjacksonspence) | 4 comments Hi All :),

I was just wondering if any of you out there know of any global ebook Competitions and Award Sites where one can offer their prized work up to be judged ;)

Hope everyone had a wicked weekend :)
Many Thanks
J.S

In other news we're still running our Month of October Giveaway of This Devil's Dice on our facebook fanpage - write " The Devil made me do it " on our wall if you fancy a copy :)

Paul Guthrie (paulguthrie) | 10 comments You could try these guys http://www.indiebookawards.com/ I got a Finalist award this year and it did generate a burst of web traffic. Also made my goodreads ad ctr go up when I mentioned it. Costs $75.

Ey (eywade) | 6 comments You should read this before you enter the contest. http://accrispin.blogspot.com/2008/02...

Paul Guthrie (paulguthrie) | 10 comments Ey has a good point. Understand that these contests are not about literary merit. They are PR vehicles. Is this a good use of your money? Up to you.

Jackson Spence (iamjacksonspence) | 4 comments Points well taken guys thank you!, and thanks Ey and Paul will check out both now :) Guess it comes down to crashing through the clutter and getting the all important exposure...well that is the concept anyway if you do win it ;)

Dale Ibitz (goodreadscomdale_ibitz) I *never* enter contests with a price tag that high.

Stephen Livingston | 12 comments You can check out the ePublishing Consortium: http://www.epublishingconsortium.com
My short story collection "Kindling" received the ePublishing Consortium Writers Award.
Best wishes, Stephen Livingston.

J.L. (goodreadscomjloakley) | 6 comments Thanks for links and comments. These award things are tricky. What to do. What to do. I did enter the 2012 EPIC Awards and have learned that I'm a finalist in historical fiction. I'll find out in March. Is it a good thing? At this point, I think so. I also found out that Publisher's Weekly has a supplement for self- published books. I did pay to get into that and am hoping that I'll get a review, but that is another story.

To me, that sounds more like a revenue stream for them than a contest entry price.

The EPIC Awards formerly the EPPIE Awards are one of the oldest around for electronic publishing. Congrats on finalist. My book Self-Promotion for Authors was a 2008 finalist.
