I'm reading a book of lectures by John Ashbery entitled "Other Traditions". I originally was interested in the first lecture on John Clare who I've been reading a lot of lately but the rest of the books has become fascinating reading as well.
I really enjoyed the Ashberry book. This week I'm all into Nordic Noir in the shape of The Keeper of Lost Causes by Jussi Adler-Olsen.
I find myself reading Agatha Christie, but I have Lowry's Giver triology to take out the wrapper and inspire me - that is once I have got through the 1,000 + e-mails awaiting me.
Reading Crome Yellow, Huxley's first novel. Very funny British humor based on his experiences with the Bloomsbury group.
Thanks for the memory, Jim. I read Crome Yellow back when I was 16 & loved it. I might have to reread it though-all I can remember is 1) I read it and 2) I loved it. Based on your comment, I think I might enjoy reading it again. :)
Thanks Jim-I went & got the Kindle edition of Crome Yellow (which is free) because your post reminded me of my first read of it when I was 16-unfortunately, that's all I remember of it, the name, when I read it, and that (at the time-and I was reading and enjoying all of Huxley) I liked it.I'm not even sure of the last. But I'll hopefully remember more after rereading. :)

I'm actually feeling inspired to do a little thematic read about the Bloomsbury group and see if I can decipher which real-life artists he's poking fun at. I'm really curious who Mr. Scogan might represent. Maybe a spring project...
