That Eye, the Sky
question
Need clarification on the ending of this book?

i read this book pretty quickly being a Tim Winton one. He certainly knows how to capture the reader as always.
i have to say i did enjoy most of "the eye, the sky", but the ending i am still strangely unsure about.
Was Ort dreaming again? Did they all get caught in a bush fire or something?
would love to hear other peoples interpretations

Hi Chantel. I just finished this and also found it a bit confusing because it is seen through 'ORT's eyes. I took the ending as Henry and Tegwyn taking off together- Henry appeared to have succumbed to his lust for her as he had 'Bobo'. This left Ort and his mother but it seemed to me that his father had started to recover and was able to 'see' again. I was satisfied with this view of how it all ended because ORT, his mother and father would now be able to heal, without Henry and Tegwyn and their issues.
