[Coco] Why does everyone forget about Johanna? No one says she's their favorite character in Catching Fire or Mockingjay. Yes she does have some flaws (she's negative and mean) but she can be caring when she wants to be. So.... did you forget about her, or do you just not like her??

Shay I liked her.

...I just forgot what happened to her in the end.

minas_elessar I like her! She just wasn't the most stand-out character to me.

Riah I like Johanna, she is one of my favorites. My friend and I were just talking about the books on Sunday and we were talking about how much we liked Johanna.

Gabrielle I liked Johanna she wasn't necessarily my favorite but she was one the top characters!
To me she was a survivor and she most probably had a very difficult life . I would have loved to learn more about her past.

same here!

The thing I really remember about Johanna is when she said (not exactly word for word) "there's no one left I care for anymore" in cf

Abby it seems like shes had a rough life and some bad past experiences but, before i read the end of the book and understood the whole storyline i thought Katniss just should of killed her right there no emotions. i also dont feel like shes played a big role in the story so she isnt that important

Diana Townsend I like Johanna but she wasn't my favorite character... Now though, I feel bad for minimizing her part in the books.

C.C. I liked Johanna, I got teary when she was in the hospital and Katniss gave her a gift (I think that was a purse with pine needles inside that she's supposed to put in her dresser.)She also cried then.. Aw, loved that scene

message 11: by rose (new) - rated it 5 stars

rose I LOVE Johanna, my favorite part is When Finnick dunks her head in the arena over and over again...and she just keeps screaming. :D

I also like how her and Katniss bond, and in the end, they choose to stick with each other.

(view spoiler)

Konstantinos I didn't like her so much in Catching Fire, but i loved her in Mockingjay.

*BB*Rosepaw, Hopekit!! what even happened to Johanna?

Lea (Peeta's #1 Fangirl!) I wonder??? I don't know.

Ranisha I loved Johanna. I love the whatever attitude she has.

Ashley I felt genuinely bad for Johanna throughout the books. Knowing what she has been through I think completely justified her actions, especially when it came to how mean she could come off.

Seriously, how nice would you be if everyone and everything you loved was taken away from you AFTER you had to kill other teens in a deadly arena? She'd been through so much. I think the character was great, well written, and gave a lot of insight into how horrible the Capitol was, even after torturing the tributes, it never really ends. I would be mean too if I felt like I couldn't trust anyone.

message 18: by Erin (new) - rated it 5 stars

Erin I think she acted like she did because everyone she loved was gone :( and being tortured by water and electricity!..that harsh :(... Wasnt my favorite charachter but I thought she was ok :D

Megan I liked how BOLD she was...stripping in front of Peeta/Katniss...but has a weak side 2...Deathly afraid of water

Chelsea Denisse I completely hated her

Charlotte I really liked her :)

Lea (Peeta's #1 Fangirl!) Megan wrote: "I liked how BOLD she was...stripping in front of Peeta/Katniss...but has a weak side 2...Deathly afraid of water"

Well she was tourtured in water so I think she has a reason to be afraid of it.

Lalala*Saredo* I like johanne she is fierce and will do anything she wills to do and she might be mean but she speaks what she wants to say she knows what she wants and isn't afraid to show it.I was really sad that she was tortured and she pretty much risked her life to save Katniss. Also how come she never told us what happened to her family because when the jabberjays attacked she said they couldn't hurt her because their was no one left she loved...???

Ziyue At first Johanna creeped me out alittle when she stripped. Aked in front of Katniss and pette but then I go to know her more and she soon became one of my favorite characters. She is sooo BOLD! If I did that in front of people( which I'll never do) then I will b ashamed and embarrassed for he rest of my life!

Kirby did we ever learn whether johanna was forced to prostitute herself like finnick was?

message 26: by kim. (new) - rated it 5 stars

kim. Johanna was my second favorite character, right behind Finnick. She and Katniss are my Hunger Games OTP; I thought Katniss had more chemistry with her than she had with either of the guys. Something about her always intrigued me, and I was a little disappointed that we never learned as much about her as we did some of the other secondary characters. Regardless, I'm proud to call myself a Johanna fan. After all she went through after being captured in CF, she's definitely a survivor.

Darlene I love Johanna

message 28: by Maya (new) - rated it 5 stars

Maya Nunez I loved Johanna! I thought she was great and super funny. I would love to know about her past and I wish they showed more on what happened to her at the end. In Mockingjay I she was a great friend to Katniss and told her the truth when no one else did. Johanna is awesome.

Nya Tomlinson-Horan-Malik-Payne-Styles johanna is one of my favorite characters. if it wasn't for finnick, i don't think that i could stand her. but he helped me see the real her. the hurt, left out, feared, girl. but i like her toughness.

Julia Yes, lets please forget about Johanna. I like toughness but she was kinda rude. & I know being in the arena probably did things to her but still...

Ariana Johanna wasn't very accessible for me. I liked her, especially in the third book, but her story is vague and short- we know that she was tortured in a way that involved water and electricity, and that she had lost everyone because she refused to live a life like Finnick's, but there were no details to tie me in. Still, poor Johana.

3m!ly she was cool but i forgot wat happened 2 her

Jules:) i disliked her intensly in cf...but in mockingjay she was one of my faves! her dark humor was one of my fave parts of the book

Becky She grew on me throughout Mockingjay and by the end I really felt sorry for how her life had turned out.

Gabrielle One of the things I most wanted to change about Mockingjay was have it tell Johanna's story. We never get to know muchh at all about her, which is a shame because I loved her character so much.
