Remember the vampires in Stephanie Meyer's blood sucks human and animal blood.He did go hunting while they were honeymooning. the author did not mentioned the length of time her vamps blood stay in their body. She left a lot up to the imagination of the readers.

A lot of the animosity towards this series could be quelled if the author didn't call the creatures vampires, since they hardly behave like vampires or have the characteristics of what a vampire traditionally has. She would have been much better off calling them something completely new.
