A Dance with Dragons
question
Where are the hero's.....you kill them off

I have just completed this epic novel and what a disappointment. This series has become so confusing with so many more characters and plots you lose yourself. The series starts with a bang in King of Thrones with great strong characters but you kill them off.....where are your hero's it looks like you killed off the last one. The exciting part of the book is in about the second to last chapter....the relationship with the Direwolves and Stark siblings was fantastic but in this book you dont even mention one of the Stark children remaining....don't worry I am a fan but you have to improve man and fast because I am not paying up to 40 bucks for a book where I skip through chapters....I dont want to know about the Iron Islands or the Dornishmen or the Slavers I want to read about Winterfell and the Wall more. And enough of Tyrion he is boring you have squeezed all you can out of him you should of killed him off! What is with Robb signing over Winterfell to Jon Snow when you never mention it again.....it is crazy, like I said I am a fan and will buy the books but stop trying to create more plots when you haven't even given Jon Snow and Dany justice.....you can marry them if you like :)
Well it sounds like you are GRRM's bitch, and it is not that I am a good enough reader the point is I am a good enough reader to know what is good and what is crap but obviously you have not read enough to know the difference, so instead of being a the author's bitch use your time constructively and broaden your reading horizons!!!

So what you're saying is you want a book where characters do exactly what you want and expect of them? There are definitely plenty of those books out there, I refer to them as "fluff" and enjoy them myself. These books are not fluff, however, and it makes them all the more thought provoking and forceful.
If anyone reads this series expecting to be able to point and exclaim "there is the hero!" they are in for a rude surprise.
And that is what makes the story worth reading.

It's obvious you haven't understood the first thing about the books - including the title - so why are you even bothering to read them? Don't buy the next book. I doubt that the loss of your 40 bucks is going to impoverish GRRM in the least.
Denise, its George martins book, his world, his story, he can do what the fuck he likes with it, and you can shut the fuck up whining about it. Have you not realised that the books aren't about the characters? Its about the story, the characters are just there as a medium through which to tell the story, characters come and go, the story keeps on going.
And how can you say that there were no stark children in this book? Even if you ignore Jon as bastard born. Arya is in there, and Bran is in there.
How about you realise that you're asinine with your ridiculous desire to read only about winterfell and the starks, that would be BORING and also realise that its a work of fiction, that you get no choice about the way the story goes (if you want that, I recommend choose your own adventure books).
You're an idiot, plain and simple. I suggest you go read twilight or something, you know, something more suited to your asinine leanings. You even admit that you skip past chapters. How can you even claim you're a fan when you don't read the god damned story. You're an ignoramus.

Haha, wow. The point to having all the separate chapters and stories is that they all affect each other -- even in ways you may not realize until the end. For example: In A Storm of Swords, Catelyn releases Jaime. Shit hits the fan for the Starks, leading to betrayal and murder. BUT, Jaime also gets to King's Landing and frees Tyrion, who is married to Sansa - so in a way Catelyn got her wish that reuniting the Lannister brothers would protect Sansa. Because Catelyn released Jaime, Tyrion was also able to kill his father - a huge threat to the Starks - escape, do a bit of scheming, and possibly even join up with Dany later. Point being: ALL VIEWPOINTS ARE IMPORTANT. And all the characters' actions affect everyone else.
His idea for this book and the last was to tell a parallel story, both ending at around the same time.
Tyrions still got a lot going for him; he just signed out a shitload in the name of Casterly Rock and, being the smart little cookie that he is, may just get close enough to Daenerys to realize his ambition.
You're right that your tastes as a reader aren't being catered to but George RR Martin is not your bitch. He's going to write chapters and if you're not a good enough reader to follow them or you're not interested that is your own problem. It must be to disappointing for you to read the book with the lens that you're using.
