Angie Do you think that killing people who do bad things is good?, could that really change our world into a better one?

Valerie Where does one draw the line between what is good and bad? There are people who consider being black or a woman or non(fill in the blank) is deserving of death. That is why this does not work. Anyone who writes in the death note is damned. It makes sense. No one has a right to take the life of another for any reason and if it is done they have to live with whatever the consequences to themselves and society may be.

Mia R I agree with Valerie as well. To have one individual's sense of justice and ideals be imposed on all of humanity would be catastrophic. Even if the individual begins with good intentions, absolute power corrupts absolutely. Throughout the series we see Light continually become more and more corrupt, until he becomes just as selfish and immoral as those he was killing. Maybe even more so.

Of course Light wasn't off to all that great a start. He intended to be seen as a god right from the very beginning.
