Ciara I really liked each character for different reasons, and so I can't choose! I was really dissapointed when both were killed, to be honest.

Lindsey Definitely Sirius!

Kerri Why would you ask us to choose against some of the best minor characters ever written in the history of writing? That's cruel! I was more upset for Harry after Sirius died because he finally had a family that would love him, and it was ripped away so quickly. When Fred died I was sad about Fred, not Harry. There could have been a total spin off series with just the twins alone, but now...

Ellie Oh, my gosh.....I have no idea. I sob every time I think about EITHER.

Connie J.estrada Me I personally would miss Fred, I actually screamed out loud NOOOOOOO! when I read that Fred died. Although Ms.Kerri mentioned(which is true) that Fred Weasly is a minor character,(to me only in the movies, cause in the books there is more of him and Georger) its not always how large a role you will play, but how the character is mentioned. And to me, he was the one with the laughs and new how to cast a good jinx. And I cried when I think of how his twin felt during the after math.

I screamed 2 and I was at church everybody turned around to look at me. I can't decide either I loved them both and I wish they didn't die

Laura fred. he was so young and funny. will george ever laugh again!?

O.O OH MY GOSH, HOW EMBARRASSING!!!!

Ellie Faith wrote: "Sirius..He had such a bitter life.Poor Sirius.."

:'(

Monica Briscoe Sirius had a life, bitter though it was. Fred had just started his life and was already on his way to being super successful with George. Was sad :(

Tuuli Definitely Fred - it's not the same without him!

Mehnaz I guess I'm going to miss both of them...
Rowling sure knows how to shock people...I never imagined anyone would die when I had started reading the series. I guess all the killings and dying had started with Sirius, and in the Deathly Hallows, it just broke all the limits :(

BOTH but ZOMG FRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if yu have a look at my profile yu'll see my thoughts on this

Laura no one has mentioned tonks and lupin! they had a baby and they both died. soo sad.

Laura Collins Laura wrote: "no one has mentioned tonks and lupin! they had a baby and they both died. soo sad."

I agree! So sad that they left their baby behind! Sirius left a legacy to harry who knew where he came from, Fred left behind George and all the other Weasleys, but Lupin and Tonks left a baby that had no idea the sacrifice his parents ultimately made for him.

In the movie they never talked about the baby either!

Tonks and Lupin did not get a good death scene.

Did anyone think it was sad that all of the creators of the Marauder's Map died prematurely? Or at least didn't reach old age?

Nyssa I miss both but I cried when Fred died. As a mother of twins, Fred and George were very close to my heart and I couldn't bare them being separated that way. Funny thing is I read the book when it first came out and I still feel a little sad when I think about it.

Ellie I don't think that's funny at all. I cry every single time I reread that part. I just can't bear it.

Chelsea Clifton Monica wrote: "Sirius had a life, bitter though it was. Fred had just started his life and was already on his way to being super successful with George. Was sad :("

I agree. I think Sirius died in a way he would want to die; going down fighting the evils of the world, protecting Harry. I don't think he wanted to die so YOUNG, but I think the manner of his death makes it easier to swallow. The fact that Fred was reveling in his brother Percy making a joke for once and then was GONE in the blink of an eye.. that's heartbreaking. I always liked Fred more than George, because he was the more outgoing twin. George is going to have to figure out how to function without his outgoing side. That is devastating.

Rebecca lassen BOTH!

I always thought Fred was the more joking one and George was more considerate.

Cece I miss both!! :'(

Why Sirius? He was accused of murdering his best friend, he got locked away for years and still had to live in hiding when he was free.

Why Fred? With George, he added so much humor to the book, the two were going to start a new life, AND HE DIED LAUGHING.

*Kashi* Skye I'm with you totally, but I tend to think more of Sirius. both were nice characters. I always wanted to read more of Sirius. Oh and BTW yes I'm a Gary Oldman Fan.

Vivian ♪(┌・。・)┌ hmm both.

but i have to say, i think fred cut me a lot deeper. maybe because there was already so much death in that book?

Isaac Sirius

❀ Sariah ❀ Fred. No doubt. I've already replied to this question, so I will not write (well, actually, type) much more on the subject.

Yeah, but so was Sirius!

Emily FRED!

Summer Well, both characters were wonderful and their unfortunate deaths are obviously going to both be a huge loss. Fred never failed to make me laugh, and Sirius always warmed my heart.

However, if I had to choose, I believe I would miss Sirius more. Fred has another half, so to speak, to keep him alive. George acted so much like him that if you find it neccesary, you can sort of look to him for humor (once again, not that I won't miss Fred or don't believe he was a great character). Sirius just played such a big part in all of the movies, and you have no choice but to fall in love with him in Prisoner of Azkaban. He looks over Harry and provides him with a sort of fatherly figure that he never had, and he can give Harry memories of his father that he may not have otherwise. Harry truly treasures his relationship with Sirius, and I guess that's why I treasured him so much as well.

Inah (Fueled By Chapters) Both. I mean they have been a big part of the series. Sirius was the only closest family Harry ever had besides the Dursleys.
And Fred, Oh my poor Fred. He was always there with George cracking jokes to make situations lighter.

Molly Oh, this is a tough choice... Sirius was one of the only people who ever cared for Harry as a parent. I found myself rereading the scenes in OotP where Harry stayed at #4, Grimmauld Place, just to enjoy the happiness of Harry at finding a home. Although Hogwarts was Harry's first "home," as expressed in many books, Grimmauld Place was the first place where he was living in what felt like a traditional nuclear family, with other children, a motherly figure, and a fatherly figure.
However, Fred was wonderful, too. I think it's true that George fulfills the same purpose, but I feel so mean saying that. Fred and George had different personalities, even if they were hard to see. Fred was more "in-charge" and was the more daring one. I have a twin sister, and she feels both like my sister and my best friend.
I don't know, but I think Sirius. It was so sad losing him, because he gave Harry that sense of belonging and parental love he had never had. Even if the teachers at Hogwarts cared for him, and he was part of a community, it wasn't the same. Harry was acutely aware that he was both an orphan and "the chosen one" while he was there, whereas with Sirius, he was just a normal kid.

george ☽ Sirius... b3ecause he loved Harry. I still love Fred though...

Richie omg!! love them BOTH!!! <3
But frankly when Sirius died I felt sad for Harry...how (almost)everyone he loves end up dead.. :(
But Fred's death was so sudden and..unexpected that i actually stopped reading the book for a while...

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

Sirius: When Harry found out that Sirius didn't help kill his Parents, and he offered Harry a home I was SO SO SO SOOO happy! Because someone still loved Harry- He had a family. Then when he was killed I was seriously angry. WHY DID HE HAVE TO DIE!!! I felt so upset and angry. Poor Harry.
Fred: WHY DID HE HAVE TO DIE?!?! I mean him and George never failed to make me laugh, when the books were becoming a little bit dark the twins ALWAYS maded me laugh. I felt upset for all the Weaslys. Fred + George were loved by everyone, and when one was taken naway it was weird to imagine George with ut his brother.

Don't ask me to choose because I couldn't. Neither of them should have died. It was almost as unfair as killing Dobby.

Dobby a free house-elf <3

I screamed in the middle of my library lesson when Fred died. I felt worse after he died than Sirius but I loved both the characters.

musicluvr123 most definitely Fred. I thought Fred was AMAZING. I just never really became attached to Sirius as a character.
