Who thinks that Cho was always kind of a jerk?

Cho wasn't a bad person. But she wasn't a person I liked very much. Her attraction to Harry seemed to come from her objectifying him.

Harry Potter was "the boy who lived" and he had a crush on Cho and that was enough for her. If Harry had honestly been just another person, I wouldn't think Cho would feel very romantically towards him.
