Before I Fall
question
Could you identify with the characters and topics mentioned in before i fall

Hi everybody!
I hope you’ve read Before I Fall and you can help me!
At the moment I’m writing my term paper about Lauren Oliver's book. The aim is to find out what target group Lauren Oliver’s book exactly has and it would help me a lot if you could answer a few questions!
It is important for me to have your age and your country, if you don’t want that your name is used that’s also okay.
Maybe you could tell me in a few words what you think about the book and describe why you liked it or not.
What do you think of how suitable it is for people in your age group?
What target group has the book in your opinion?
Did you remark differences between your school and the school mentioned in the book?
Could you identify with the characters / the subjects (friendship, school, love, family, bullying)?
Thanks a lot in advance!!!
I hope you have the time to answer my questions!
Kind regards
Hanni

1. I think it's pretty suitable, nothing most of us or our friends haven't seen or done.
2. 14+ for sure.
3. Yeah, there's a massive social ranking thing happening in real life, wherever you live in the world I guess.
4. Yes, on a personal level and through friends experiences.
Hope I helped slightly. :)

I'm from the USA and I am 26.
I loved the book because it was such an emotional story that I could really relate to. It showed great character growth and allowed you to see each character in all the good and bad ways. Someone might seem like a bitch until you really get to know them and see what they are going through. This book showed how each character handled things and sometimes they handled them badly but you understood why.
I would consider it a good book for everyone 12 and above because it definitely helps you take a step back and view social groups. I found it very relatable to my own high school experience and wish I had been able to read it back before high school.
I believe the target group is for teenagers all the way to adults. Probably more specifically high school students.
I found the school in the book close to my own high school. There were the popular people and the less popular and then the people that really got picked on. There were similar parties.
I could identify with all the characters. Even though I thought some of them acted wrong I could understand the feelings that drove them to it. I have had similar conflicts, fears, and have done some similar actions in order to fit in or get to go to a good party.

1. I loved this book. Although the ending was a downer for me. Kent finally got her and she.. what... DIES!!! It so sad.
2. It is suitable for I say 14 or 15+. I liked it and because of my reading knowledge, understood much or what she said.
3. I think the target group is for any teens, even the queen bee. She purposfully did it on as popular teen kid inb high school.
4. I do go to a private school so I did see very many big diffrences. I know what public school is like, so it was pretty spot on.
5. I think the subjects are Love, Bullying, Friendship and Suicide (Juliet).

I'm from Turkey and i liked the book even though it's not one of my favorite books. I think it's suitable for any teens ( 12+ ) but I'm 24 and sometimes I got bored about teen problems. Maybe it's about my highschool life was not similar to theirs. We don't have that type of bullying around. I'm not saying people are nicer but we mostly keep it to ourselves (or it was that way around my age). We have groups of friends and we don't pick on other groups. The subjects of this book are well written. I can understand their motives, (though sometimes I don't agree). Friendship, love, social ranking are very important to highschoolers, even if it means to do some terrible things.
I related to this book in the terms of mean girls. I have been a victim of bullying for no reason like Juliet with Lindsay. I think Oliver was trying to reach out to girls who had been bullied by people like Lindsay.
