Does anyone know if Clive Barker and his longtime partner David split? The reason I am asking is because the reprints of his Abarat series and the new book, all for young adults, have removed all mention of Clive living with his partner. I am hoping (sorry to say) that they split instead of the book company removing any information that would indicate Barker is gay because they don't want to alienate or infuriate groups.

All his biography says in the new book is that he lives with a large number of animals.
Yes, they split in 2009. I think that might be reflected in Abarat III in a way- lots of love lost there, if you know where to look.
Why is the new Abarat book still not in paperback? Many other books come out in that format after only 6 months, but Abarat has been out for awhile but only in hardback.
I've long thought that Clive based Princess Boa off of his former partner, because the shocking change from her as a charming important person to a nasty force reflected to me a relationship gone sour with the inspiration.
