Hi all, I'm Mhàire and I'm new Goodreads.
I am a bookworm in a houseful of grownup Gamers. I like to read a Variety of Genre to keep things interesting.
I've been a Bookworm since I was able to pick up a book. I'm now in my 40's and would love some bookish friends 😅

Amber | 1 comments Hi, I'm Amber.
I've been a bookworm, pretty much my whole life. I'm mostly a mood reader and I'm hoping these challenges help me get thru my extensive TBR.

JT B (jtberk16) | 1 comments Hello all,

I was an avid reader prior to adulthood, I've recently gotten back into the swing of it. I'm always struggling to find my next read. I think I'm a big mood reader so if the vibe of a book isn't quite right I struggle to get through it. I look forward to trying some challenges to hopefully help in that.

Welcome to the group JT! I get into moods sometimes too, but I then just default to comfort reads, or take a break. But most of my reading is in audio, so listening is always easy ;)

Hope the challenges help!

message 4060: by Melody (new)

Melody | 1 comments Hello, I'm Melody. I'm 16 years old and I've been reading ever since elementary school but ended up in a big reading slump in years, so I'm looking for books right now. I had good reads but didn't use it as much, so hopefully I get some book recommendations. <3

Jane (PS) | 24347 comments Welcome to the group Melody! Hope you find some books to pull you out of your reading slump :)

larissa (larissamarylene) | 1 comments Hi my name is Larissa and reading makes life better (and pets). I like to read depending on my mood, but I read mostly romance novels because who doesn’t want love in their life. My favorite series right now is Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber. 🍎

message 4069: by Risqué (new)

Risqué Librarian (risquelibrarian) Hello! My name is Kristen and reading has been my life for as long as I can remember. I don't know what I would do without books, to be honest.
Romance is a fairly new genre to me though I have to admit that I have been diving head first in for the past few months and I am really looking forward to finding some new romance recommendations. I have been reading magic-realism romance recently, mostly witchy romance novels but I am open to learning about any and all possibilities out there!

message 4077: by The Bibliophile (new)

The Bibliophile Baroness Hello, I’m looking for romance novels about older women- at least 30s and up. I just can’t relate to teen and twenty something love stories. Would love to read some about women going through real life struggles such as divorce, cheated on, becoming widowed, etc and their ability to overcome. I guess I prefer deeper love stories. Please give me some recommendations. Thanks!

message 4078: by Darcy (new)

Darcy DecantingBooks | 58 comments Hi Everyone, I just joined and am so looking forward to this group! I love to read all things romance and am an avid audiobook listener as well. I'm always looking for something new to read (even though my TBR list is always a mile long).

A few that come to mind are Role Playing by Cathy Yardley, Bring Me Back and Gray Hair Don't Care by Karen Booth, Snap Out of It by Maddie Dawson, Dirty Little Midlife Crisis by Lilian Monroe, and This Time Is Different by Mae Wood. Not sure any of these are especially deep, but they involve women over 40 who have been through some of the struggles you mentioned.

Jane (PS) | 24347 comments Welcome Marie and Darcy!! Sorry I missed your earlier comment re older women romances Marie ~ its been a very busy month, plus I'm transferring computers and trying to work out the finer details of Apple 🤔🫥

Thanks for your input Darcy!! I don't think I have any particular recommendations! I recall that Jayne Ann Krentz / Jayne Castle tends toward older heroines but I don't think they meet your other criteria. ;)

message 4081: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 3 comments Hi! I'm an avid romance reader. Pretty much all tropes, genres, and levels of spice (though I do lean towards the spicier end of the spectrum). None of my friends/family are big readers, so I joined to link up with more of my people ;) I only recently got more active on this site, so I'm looking to add to my friends list and my never ending TBR.

Hi Marie! If you're into PNR or fantasy, I'd suggest K.F. Breene's Magical Midlife series and Shannon Mayer's Forty Proof series.

Welcome to the group Ashley! It's difficult if your family aren't readers ~ mine read, but they tend toward autobiographies etc. I'd rather read something that I KNOW isn't real. I do not need to worry about things that might come true!! 😂

Sabrina | 2 comments Just joined! I’ve been reading historical romance since I was 8 years old. Just starting to reread some favourite Jude deveraux and other epic authors.

message 4085: by Noah (last edited Dec 16, 2023 02:10AM) (new)

Noah (dreamingnarziss) Hi :)
I am your latest member; but to be honest, I have never read a romantic book (just books with some romantic element). But I bought Frankly in Love and Check and Mate, so I will truly be a member of this group soon :P
I am Austrian, so I will read books in German and English :)

Laura | 1 comments Hi. I‘m Laura and 27 years old (almost 28). I have always loved reading books, as long as I can remember anyway lol.
I‘m from Germany , a swiftie, a hopeless romantic and currently I love to read slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers, no smut, wordbuilding-fantasy. If anyone can relate to that, I would love to hear some good book recommendations and maybe find new nice people to talk about books and other stuff :)

message 4089: by Julie (new)

Julie | 876 comments Hi. I'm Julie from Australia. I fell in love with reading as a teen, with a soft spot for romance, fantasy & sci fi. Sadly, I'm a bookworm in a household of gamers so I'd love to make some bookworm friends.

message 4090: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24347 comments Welcome to the group Julie!! I don't have a heap of friends who read (esp romance ~ if any?) so I totally understand the need to find other bookwormers :) The best part is seeing what everyone else is reading - and then commenting if you both strike common ground.

Have fun!

message 4091: by Selena (new)

Selena B.R. | 3 comments Hi!! I just joined. My name is Selena and I'm really trying to push myself to complete my goals this year involving art, my career, and reading. I'm so excited to read more rom-coms. I'm a sucker for romance.

Catsalive | 179 comments I'm Kylie from Australia.

Shan ~A~, you mentioned something about a challenge that I hadn't heard of before, so I'm blaming you for my joining another group. 😂

I mostly like Regency & ChickLit/Women'sFic/Contemporary with protagonists over 30 & a bit of humour. I think of it as an extension to another love of mine, Fantasy.

message 4093: by MM (new)

MM | 1 comments Hi all! I'm M!
I'm fairly new to GR, learning how to work this site, join groups while also participating in said groups via challenges etc. I am reviving my love of reading. I love romance books. There are so many I haven't read or are behind on lol
If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to DM! or even add me :)
