I've been a member for a number of years but have been on hiatus for the past 2 or so. I figured it was time to reintroduce myself. Since I was very active, I've had a daughter who has special needs, and she is the sweetest thing in the world. My favorite genre is still romance, and my current favorites are Wrong and Right by Jana Aston.
Question for you guys - is there a Discord for this group? Thanks!

Hi Rebecca - great to see you back here :D
To answer your question: is there a Discord for this group?
I'm guessing we don't have this since I'm not sure what it means :)

My name is Heather. Absolutely love reading, I look forward to doing some buddy reads and finding some new books that I will love. I borrow from the library so some books are hard for me to find :( But I look forward to reading some books with you guys ❤️ I have a 3 month old daughter so my reading pace is kinda slow right now :(

Welcome Heather! We have challenges for all paces :)
Have you seen the Buddy Read challenge?

Karen runs this each month. A nice way to slowly reenter the reading circle :) Unfortunately you have just missed the July one... Watch for it in the monthly newsletter :)

Discovering Goodreads has been the best (because I have found so many amazing books through here) and worst (because I'm so tempted to abandon all responsibilities to read 24/7). I love intense romance novels that have moments where I'm violently chewing my lip tensed and moments when I'm trying to quietly laugh in bed because its 3 am and I don't want to wake up my boyfriend.... I know I'm not the only one!
I'm looking forward to getting move involved in the GR community!

Hey Heather! I'm in graduate school so I'm all about cheap and easy. I know most people have Kindles or the Kindle app, but the Nook app (Barnes and Nobles version of the Kindle) has a ton of free books! My last book I read (Naught Boss by Whitney G) cost money on Amazon Kindle but was free on the Nook app. Just thought I would throw it out there :)

Hey Keiria! I completely understand where you're coming from about going bankrupt! I remember begging my mom in Barnes & Nobles to buy me books when I was younger, but she would limit me to 2-3 per visit. Now that I'm grown and see how expensive books are I totally understand! Have you tried Kindle Unlimited? I'm doing the free trial and haven't completely decided my thoughts on it yet. Also, the Nook app has a lot of free books :)

Welcome to the group Jillian - good to see you checking out comments already :D Hope you jump in on the challenges and the fun. Let us know if you need any help/clarification :)

Hi Jillian! When i was a kid, my mom got me a library card and i remember feeling like it was my passport to anywhere i wanted to go. I treasured that little yellow laminated card more than anything! During the school year, i'd borrow 2 - 3 books/week from the school library and during the summer, once/week, my mom would take me to the public library and i'd check out 5 books every week. I have tried kindle unlimited, my problem with it is that very seldom does it have the books that i want to read in that program so i cancelled my subscription. I may renew it at some point down the road, but for right now Bookbub saves me money (they also force me to spend more since it always seems to be the first book in a series that's discounted).

Welcome to the group Kayla!! (We'll probably call you Lav from now on though ;) Hope you have fun browsing the challenges, and as MountainKat says, maybe you could combine some of your genres for the best of both worlds :)

I hope you have fun here - we all love romance!

Welcome to the group Taryn! I have to admit I hid my romances as well from my family, although they weren't from my mother ~ I had to borrow from kids at school or go down to the book exchange :) Thanks heavens they were dead cheap!
Enjoy browsing our bookshelves and challenges :D

thrillers; romantic suspense; some fantasy; historical; historical romance/Regencies; women's literature.
I have a house full of books, some I have read and others yet to read. After comments from my husband about his having to soon reinforce the floors because of the weight of the books, I have now started being very good and give most of the books away once I've read them, to charity shops, keeping just a few favourites.
I love reading and always have done from a small child. I roughly read about 5 books a month, maybe more, I haven't really counted.

I pretty much took all my physical books to a second hand store or gave them away about 5 years ago. I love my ereaders, so I’d rather hold them electronically now.
Hope you enjoy our group!

Not into ebooks at all. I like the tactile feel of real books. My husband bought me a Kindle as a Christmas present some years again, despite the fact that I'd earlier said I didn't want one. Worst Christmas present I've ever had! LOL

Welcome to the group and I hope the challenges don't do more damage to your floors!

He Therea! Welcome to the group! Hope you have fun here ~ jump in on any of the challenges - we love to have new blood :D

Welcome to the group ADPi - hope you find some romance books amongst our shelves that whet your interest :D

I hope you have fun here - we all love romance so you should be able to find some good ones to add to your shelves. =)

And you wouldn't guess English is your second language!

Jump in on any of the challenges ~ there are plenty here to help you knock off your TBR!

I'm an Avid reader, and I love reading all types of romance books. I find I am drawn to writing that focuses on interpersonal stories, probably because I have a psychology degree that is collecting dust while I work in the high tech industry. Anyway, I am excited to be here and hope to hear about some authors I haven't read before.
