MountainKat | 31805 comments Hi Anna! I really hope to visit your country someday! I hope you get to spend more time here - maybe you will get something other than dial-up someday. =)

Anna (buckwriter) | 6 comments I hope it...I am cut out from the net, which it can be truly good if I want to write and read eheheh but of course I can be considered a bit asocial you know. Where do you live?

message 2353: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24353 comments Great to hear from you Anna! Hard to believe dial-up internet is still around ;) Any chance of mobile broadband making it to your part of Italy? I'm going to Hungary soon and have been wondering about connectivity...

message 2354: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31805 comments I live in the mountains of Southern California, we have 'high speed' here - in quotes because it really isn't high speed, but it isn't too bad as long as we aren't trying to do too much at the same time. That is the one thing I miss about living in the city, but I love the mountains so it is a compromise.

If you go to cities in Hungary there are no problem I guess. South California? What a dream!!!! It's a wonderful place and there are many Italians. I love the books by John Steinbeck. Great portray of your beautiful land. Good white wine the Zinfandel for what I know.

Hungary is a place plenty of history. Ask about Sissi, the wife of Francis Joseph the Emperor of Austria....She was very loved by the population.

Jane (PS) | 24353 comments Thanks for posting here Aneerah. So sorry to hear the trauma in your life, but it sounds like your son and his wife have a great attitude, which is often most of the battle.

Have noticed you posting a lot more :D Hope reading and goodreads gives you escape, respite and relaxation. Look forward to seeing you around here more!

message 2370: by Jenna (new)

Jenna Victoria | 2 comments I'm Pebbles - nickname obviously!

I've been an avid/binge reader of romance, mystery, British police procedurals and the odd biography ever since I could teethe on the binding of a hardcover!

I am married, no children, and I live in Long Island ~ although anyone who knows me in real life knows I should have been born in the UK.

I also binge watch BBC TV shows on Netflix or DVd - or on public television from from way back before Downtown was a glimmer in creator Julian Fellowes' eyes.

More recently though I switched gears from reader to romance writer- especially in the genres of clean/sweet/Christian romance.

My pen name is Jenna Victoria.

Ciao Aneerah, I know the St.Jude. It's for sure the best choice! If you need some support I can speak with my aunt of Memphis, Bobbie, maybe when you will stay to Memphis you can meet up with her. She is an adorable lady for sure. She sent me a lot of pictures of the St.Jude's in the past and of the little guests. It was moving. Big hugs and stay strong. Please give a hug at your kid to me.

message 2376: by Silvana (new)

Silvana | 1 comments Hello everyone, I'm Silvana. :)

I'm from Bulgaria. I prefer historical and paranormal romance (but I like other genres too). I joined the group because lately I find it hard to pick a book to read, so I thought maybe this group would help me find some good books...

What else can I say? I'm a university student and I study informatics, but I work to pay for my tuition and I love my job (not the boss though, but who likes their boss anyway). I've previously studied economics and from that I have what in my country we call a third-degree diploma (in finance), which I hope I never have to use. :D It's the lowest qualification, but it allows me to work as an accountant or finance adviser, credit consultant and so on...

Also, I'm extremely shy so if anyone writes something to me and it takes me a few days to reply - please don't get offended, I'll be thinking through what to say back. That's how shy I am. I also must suffer from something, because I can't lie even if it would save my life. So basically I'm shy and absolutely honest so imagine how much of an awkward (and rude, but mostly awkward) person I am in real life.

Well... That's me. I hope this group helps me find the good romance book I've been searching for.

message 2377: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24353 comments Welcome to the group Silvana!! I am sure you will find plenty of book options within the group ~ the challenges are chock-full of them :)

Don't worry about the shyness ~ just jump in wherever you feel comfortable. The beauty of our challenges is that it is really only you that you are challenging since we have a few levels for each one :D

message 2378: by Connie N. (new)

Connie N. | 1319 comments So glad to meet you, Silvana. We're happy you decided to reach out because this is a very warm and welcoming group, and you'll find lots of suggestions about what to read next. Have fun poking around and getting ideas. Jump in when you feel comfortable.

MountainKat | 31805 comments Hi Silvana! I definitely think this group and the challenges will help you find new books, it helps me a lot! And just jump in where you feel like it, everyone is super friendly here!

message 2380: by Cece (new)

Cece Rose | 1 comments Hi everyone, I'm Cece, a 20 year old Christian who is new to goodreads, it's nice to meet you all :) I'm a writer of fairly emotive, chaste romance and a reader of much the same. I've loved writing and wanted to be an author since I was 9 years old and have loved editing people's work since high school so if anyone wants their story looked over I'm more than happy to help! With regard to books, I'm seeking a chaste romance novel/love story, (Christian romance fiction is great too) with a focus on the emotional connection between the central couple, a book with no violence, deaths and with minimal conflict, so if anyone has any recommendations of that kind please send them my way! :) I've recently gotten into Debbie Macomber's work so if anyone has any of hers they'd recommend, I'd love to hear about them too :)
Hope everyone is having a wonderfully blessed day :)

message 2381: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31805 comments Welcome Cece! I think Debbie Macomber is a great fit for what you are looking for - she writes a sweet story! I don't have a favorite and haven't read any for a number of years, but she is very prolific! I do remember really enjoying her holiday stories - perfect for the season. =) I hope you enjoy your time here!

message 2384: by Eunice (new)

Eunice Hi, I'm Eunice. I'm not exactly new to Goodreads, but I started to actually use this site only recently. I read almost any genre as long as the plot is interesting to me, but I usually read mystery/thriller, fantasy, sci-fi, and YA, but any romance sprinkled on it is a plus in my opinion. Once in a while though, I read books with romance as the main genre. I decided to join the group because I recently got into reading challenges. It sounded fun, and I thought that it can help me explore a wider range of books.

message 2393: by [deleted user] (new)

Hello to everyone! I'm from Iowa (you maybe guessed from my name!) and am anxious to get involved. My sister-in-law was an active member of this group and the fact that she enjoyed it so much gave me all the encouragement I needed to join. Several years ago I was a member of GR but didn't really do much with it. So, I'm an "old" newbie, sort of. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and read some great books.
