How do you get through so many books, one a day is incredible, I'm lucky if I get through one a week. I do write though, so that takes a lot of time. Hope you enjoy the group.

I don't watch much TV. Really only on weekends when football is on.

I hardly watch any TV either Jen - but lately I've been keeping up to date on the SanFran 49er's new recruit Jarryd Hayne; the latest Aussie to give your NFL a go!!! So of course now I have to barrack for the 49ers ;)

Well, I hope he does ok as a player and though I don't hate the 49ers, I would still have a hard time rooting for them. Unless of course, they were playing one of the truly hated teams - or it helped my team! =D

I'm Cat, and I read anything. Seems like I'm in good company!"
Welcome to the group Cat :) Yep - you'll fit in fine!

Welcome to the group Karlene! Hope you have a blast checking out what we are reading and how we've fit them into the challenges :)

As of this minute, there are 9,452 members here. We just poke along, design challenges and people drop by and chat... :D

good luck with the writing, Melinda.

Welcome to the group Melinda! And let's ALL hope there isn't a rehab for readers ;)

My husband doesn't read an usually mocks me when I do but whatever. I enjoy some classics although most I read I have found dry. I also enjoy romance and fantasy.

I've morphed from PNR and historical to fantasy and MM, but I really read anything if the story précis appeals :)
And my husband has a total disinterest in my books! He'd be SO happy if I stopped but he has buckley's chance there ;)

MM - male/male romance (gay romance which has a readership of about 90% females ~ or at least that's how it seems ;) I think it's cos you get two hunky males for the price of one! Plus they often have additional social issues to overcome so the angst can go up.
:D you'll eventually get used to all the acronyms - they are all over the place ;)

Hello Vanessa
I'm a male who writes Romance novels, and not surprisingly, though I think it's a pity, virtually all my readers are female. Men read far less than women and they avoid romance fiction. I'm trying to change that.
Richard (R J Gould)

I adore Jane Austen and the Bronte's, J.R Ward, MM romance, historical romance, paranormal/urban fantasy... literally anything to be honest. It's nice to meet you all. :)

Okay. I understand now. My name is Michele Taylor. (Michele with one "L" I like to say there's no hell in me or my name, Ha,ha) I am a novelist plus I write scripts and plays. I work at the Rochester Hills Public Library in Rochester Hills,Michigan, so I have been surrounded by books every day for the past 26 years. The first novel I wrote is called "The Sight of Blood" and my second is "Stormy Romance" which is all about a romance between a TV reporter and marine biologist. It is set in the romantic Pacific Northwest. I like a good fiction book but I also like a good non-fiction book. I have to say my favorite non-fiction book is "Helter Skelter" by the late Vincent Bugliosi. I've read that book three times and was enthralled each time. I look forward to hearing of good books to read, along with finding them in my library.

Hey Jess - welcome to the group!! Sounds like you will fit right in :D There is plenty going on here, and a LOT of the members read the same authors as you.
The PIFM is pretty straight forward once you dive in. Just ask for any clarification you need in that thread - everyone will be happy to help out :) Or have a trawl through September's thread.
Essentially it is one member recommending 8 books to another member based on some set criteria. Since sign up is still open, you don't have all that information yet. The question on sign up is simply to put you into a group to allocate out who is picking for whom.
So whilst you pick a set of books for someone, another member is picking a set of books for you. Half the books are new to you; half are from your TBR. You only need to read one of the books recommended to complete the challenge. Some ppl are of course over-achievers ;)
Hope this helps!

I'm Angie and obviously new to the group. I am a bookworm and love just about any genre... just about. Romance seems to be the one I return to most often and is definitely my go-to genre for recovery after reading an intense novel. Looking forward to finding new authors and meeting new people who share my love of books! I've already signed up for the October monthly challenge! Also, I welcome all new friends!!
