Marian (ariasaven) | 9 comments I've never tried reading challenges but I expect it'll be a lot of fun. Thanks for the welcomes. :)

Audra (audraelizabeth) | 6 comments Hi, I'm Audra.I'm hoping to work on clearing out my tbr list to make room for more.

message 1503: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31805 comments Hi Audra! I'm afraid to say that my TBR just grew here even though I have been reading more. =)

message 1504: by Ari (last edited Nov 15, 2014 09:25PM) (new)

Ari (aristotlelovesbooks) Hey, everyone, Eden here. I'm a romance book addict (though I'm a pretty eclectic reader, overall) and find that this genre tends to be my guilty pleasure. Good to have found the group!

message 1505: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31805 comments Welcome Eden! Just jump on in to any challenges or discussions - glad you found us!

message 1506: by Ari (new)

Ari (aristotlelovesbooks) Thanks a lot! And great, I'm browsing my way around :D

message 1507: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24353 comments Welcome to the group Audra and Eden :)

As Kat said Audra, your TBR is more likely to grow than shrink, but the challenges do help you clear some books that can be easily overlooked.

And we all need guilty pleasures in life Eden - whatever manner, shape or form! ;)

message 1508: by Ari (new)

Ari (aristotlelovesbooks) Thanks for the welcome, Jane. And we sure do. Romance books and chocolate--life is all good when those two things are combined.

message 1509: by Audra (new)

Audra (audraelizabeth) | 6 comments Hi Kat,Eden and Jane. I've been using the text to talk feature and letting my computer read the book to me as I loom knit so that has helped the pile.

message 1510: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24353 comments I haven't tried text to talk yet. Is there a lack of intonation at all Audra?

message 1511: by Tina (new)

Tina Gabrielle (tina_gabrielle) | 1 comments Hi everyone. I'm new to the group. I am an avid lover of romance novels and an author. My latest book, "A Spy Unmasked," was released on 11/10. This group was recommended as a great way to discuss new and wonderful romances.

message 1517: by Stacey (new)

Stacey | 28 comments This is my first group. I found reading about a year ago and haven't quit. I think that I'm trying to catch up for the years of missed reading.

message 1518: by Aditi (new)

Aditi | 8 comments Hi everyone!!
I am Aditi...
I love to read romance novels ...my usual favourites are historical romances but I can love pretty much any type of romance if it is written correctly!!
Looking for some recent recommendations on this group!!

message 1519: by Emerlyn (new)

Emerlyn (lilprincessem) Hello Everyone! My name is Emmee and I've really started to love reading since about my junior year of high school, but started reading a lot more in about 2012. Been finding it harder to find books to read so I'm hoping this group will give me some great suggestions and challenges.

message 1520: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24353 comments Welcome to the group Stacey, Aditi and Emmee!!! Great to have you all on board :)

I think once you find the right books to read Stacey (ie that you enjoy) its a really hard addiction to face life without ;)

I agree Aditi - a well-written book with a good plot can overcome a lot of preconceived preferences :)

No problems Emmee - I'm sure you'll find some new books here... maybe too many ;) All out TBR piles get out of control very quickly once you start the challenges and trawling through member shelves...

MountainKat | 31805 comments Hi Stacey, Aditi and Emmee! Love having lots of new member join us here! I hope you have as much fun in the group as I do!

message 1522: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Joseph Hi everyone my name is Jenn and right now i can't find any good YA books to read. So if anyone has any suggestions, please tell me. I have no special requirements or specific genre. As long as they are interesting i'll read them! thanks

Hahaha! That's what I'm hoping for. I'm a really picky reader so hopefully this will open my eyes to some new romance books

message 1524: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24353 comments Hey Jenn - welcome to the group! I'm not a reader of YA books but a lot of our members are :) I'm on my phone so I can't send links but we have a folder for book discussions - head over there and post your query there. Our members are more likely to see your question. Good luck!

message 1525: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31805 comments Welcome Jenn! I don't read much YA either, but Jane gave you some great advice!

Unapologetic_Bookaholic | 2002 comments Hello! I was a member of this group way back when and I had to quit because I did not have the time to read as much. I am hoping to try a challenge and see if I can keep up! I mostly read M/M,BDSM and post apocalyptic novels but I am open to suggestions.

Unapologetic_Bookaholic | 2002 comments I did not know where else to ask this but what is the minimum number of books you can pick for the monthly challenge. I remember you don't have to read all ten but you have to pick the number of challenges you want to complete. Example 0/5 out of 10 total.

message 1528: by Jane (PS), Moderator (last edited Nov 27, 2014 01:20PM) (new)

Jane (PS) | 24353 comments Hi MK! Great to have you back :)

The minimum number for the monthly challenge is 3 books. The options are 3, 5, 8 and 10 books.

The other option is to go with a quarterly challenge, since you have longer to read with more flexibility, and they also have levels (generally 5, 10, 15 and 20+). A new quarterly will be starting in mid December, so that could work for you as well :)

message 1529: by Liah (new)

Liah (LiahPenn) | 1 comments Hi, my name is Liah, and I am a huge reader (former English major) and a writer, now author....first book comes out next month. I used to read strictly mystery but discovered romantic suspense and fell in love with romance....now I read anything in those genres. Just read Lynne Connolly's new book Mad for Love and totally enjoyed it!

message 1530: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31805 comments Hi MK and Liah! Welcome to the group!

message 1531: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24353 comments Hi Liah - welcome to the group! It's funny how we fall back/into romance. It's such an undervalued genre in literature and yet it is the most widely read :)

Hello Jane and thank you! I will ease into the december challenge with 3 books. It is GREAT to be back!

Unapologetic_Bookaholic | 2002 comments Hi Liah and welcome,

Unique | 1 comments Greetings, I am looking foward to interacting with all the members and learning of new authors. If I may ask, is this a diverse group or do you only read specific authors?

message 1536: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31805 comments Hi Tammy, welcome! We are a very diverse group, really the only thing linking us is our love of romance. We have people who read all over the spectrum from inspirational to erotica and everywhere in between! I hope you enjoy the group and I see you around in the challenges!

BTW, the challenges aren't usually limited to romance and you can read anything that fits.

message 1537: by Abhishek (new)

Abhishek Bhadauria (abhirjit) | 2 comments Hi Everyone!
My name is Abhishek. I have recently started reading and got hooked up to it like anything. Romance have been a genre which I have always found myself attracted to, and this attraction is not just limited to books. :)
And hence here I am in this group to find out some good books I can read.

Jane (PS) | 24353 comments Welcome to the group Tammy and Abhishek! I'm sure you'll find plenty to tempt you within the threads and the challenges... Seeing what other romance readers are loving is such a great way to find your next exciting read :)

Good luck!

message 1541: by ✩Tiffany✩ (new)

✩Tiffany✩ (_tiffany_) | 5 comments Hey! I'm Tiffany. I actually joined a while ago but completely forgot to say hi and introduce myself. I kind of got caught up with uni (I can graduate yay!) and then busy with looking for work and the reading challenges from another group I'm in.

Anyways, I first read romance at around 15 and I've never looked back~

message 1542: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24353 comments Welcome to the group Tiffany! Congrats on your graduation & look forward to seeing you around :)

message 1543: by Tania (new)

Tania | 644 comments I'm not a "just joined" but I thought I would take a chance to introduce myself. I was in the group a couple of years ago and loved it but two jobs and some personal upheaval in the last few years has meant that I had no time for reading let alone for taking part in a group.

So a bit about me... I'm from Australia. I've just given up one of my jobs (piece of advice - don't work two jobs you'll have the money for new books but won't ever get the chance to read them) and now that life has calmed down some I'm staring at an out of date tbr list and no idea of where to start or what I've missed out on...

The answer of course is reading challenges :)

message 1544: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24353 comments Hey Tania - great to see you back here! We've missed you! Glad you have reorganised your life - it sounds like it was hectic to say the least. You've got to have time to smell the roses (or read your favourite book)!

As I recall you were last in Qld - still there?

message 1545: by Tania (new)

Tania | 644 comments No I moved down to Armidale permanently... much much cooler weather than you guys have been having up in Qld plus fewer storms :)

Yup - stinking hot but hopefully a storm this afternoon. But Armidale is such a lovely town and region! We are looking at heading south. Just need to find the right property :)

GreenFairy (greenfairy429) | 1096 comments Hello! I'm new-ish to the group. I was a member before with a different account. Had a lot to deal with the last 6 months and fell out of contact. Lost the log in information for the account. And Goodreads couldn't help either :( This was my favorite group though. Looking forward to the new year and getting in on challenges again!
