Will Todd Hey:

Just wanted to let everyone know I'm giving away 10 copies of my book:

Here's the official Goodreads Giveaway link:

"THE TELLING OF MY MARCHING BAND STORY" by Will Todd

Yes, this is an "unsolicited recommendation"...

...but it's also FREE!

Thanks,

Will Todd

P.S. Here's the description:

Ba-aaand!

Attention by the numbers!

Readyyyyy...

ONE! This is the (mostly) true story of one Freshman's experience during "Hell Week" - the time allotted to transform 250 summer-vacation bloated recruits into one of the best college marching bands in the country. It's about Trying. It's about Truth. It's about the perfect length for a transcontinental flight.

Readyyyyy...

TWO! As a bonus, the screenplay version is included after the book for those with a genuine interest in scriptwriting, i.e., anyone not actually affiliated with Hollywood.

Readyyyyy...

THREE! I used to be a writer for "THE WONDER YEARS". This book is my attempt to tell a personal story in the same way...

...with both heart and humor.

Ba-aaand!

READ!

i feel like his intentions are good, though, and he didn't just post this in like 30 groups....

i investigate...

message 5: by Dave (new)

Dave Russell I don't care about the spamming. Did you see those movies?

message 6: by Meredith (new)

Meredith Holley (meredithholley) | 194 comments Those movies rule. I won't hear trash talk about them.

Will Todd Wow, I have to admit, I didn't expect ANY comments to my Giveaway post...

...let alone five...

...let alone one with the word "adorable" and one with the phrase "Those movies rule."

More specifically:

@Karen:

Truth in Advertising: I have, in fact, posted about my Giveaway to other groups (though not 30), but in each case, I tried to make sure they had an area set aside specifically for that purpose. More importantly, perhaps, I've spent at least a week lurking in each group, and have even made a post or two.

If this is a problem in any way, I'm not looking to make waves here or anywhere else. I like Goodreads as more than just a promotional tool.

So if you feel the need, you can delete this thread and I'll still tune in.

@Dave:

Ban me? Come on, buddy! I can see your point about the second movie, but the first one, too?? That flick was "CITIZEN TURTLE"!

@Sparrow:

My apologies for trash-talking my own movies...

...and BTW, you made my day.

Will Todd

P.S. BTW #2, @Karen again - your initial post made my week.

Dave Russell Ah, I was mostly kidding. My little stepbrothers were way too much into TMNT, so I'm biased.

Actually I've been watching The Wonder Years on cable. I'd forgotten what a good show it was, especially the first two seasons.

Will Todd @Dave:

There, see?

I knew a guy who lives in San Diego and enjoys the most temperate weather on Planet Earth couldn't really be too upset about anything!
