Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

If, in fifty years or so, they made a remake of the series, would you watch it?

I couldn't have put it better myself!

Eragon was one of the biggest disappointments of a book I enjoyed and to watch it be adapted in such a way that it hardly followed the book was irritating. HP7 part 1 was leaning more to the boring side but that is partly because the more interesting scenes happen in the last half of the book.

I would watch HP again if they remade it to see how it compares to the original movies and to the books.

Agree! (but as long as they didn't do something stupid with casting, why not watch?)

Forgive me my quiet rant.

I saw persy jackson today and THAT was nearly as bad as eragon. all the good books they seem to want to f up. im scared of what theyll do to The Hunger Games!!

I'm pretty sure that J.K. Rowling stated that they can't do a remake series until she is pushing up daisies.

It was actually quite incisive. Bravo.

I think that most of the cast would avoid going into the remakes, except those that are either broke, or trying to realaunch their careers - you never know what might happen in thity years.

I recently saw something about which American actors would play characters if the series was made in the U.S.
Dick Van Dyke as Dumbledore?
Angelica Houston as Minerva - I can see that, but I'd prefer Kathy Bates, or Lauren Becall.
Rosie O'Donnel as Molly Weasley - I can see that! She'd be awesome.
John Goodman as Arthur Weasley - Cool.
Brad Pitt as lupin - no thank you.
Dakota Fanning as Fleur - too young.
Selena Gomez as luna Lovegood - No, good god, no.
But I could see Christopher Michin as Harry, and the Asian girl from Glee as Cho Chang.

Agree! (but a..."
American actors would be strange but I agree about Kathy Bates and maybe even Rosie, but Selena Gomez? ugh!!!

An AMERICAN remake, though? No freaking way. No freaking way. No no no no no.

lol, I'll be in my 80's. Guess we will have to wait and see if they let us watch that kinda thing in the nursing homes.

Rosie is a large fan of the books, so she really knows everything about them, and is a real fan.
I think the only reason the girl from Glee go on the list, is because she is one of the few famous Asian actresses in Hollywood.

That's if we haven't lost our minds by then.

I would watch HP again if they remade it to see ho..."
The BBC has no money these days ... so, no.

Scary thought - I thin k I'll just disappear into BC's backwoods before they come to take me away!!

No offence to American people, but most can't do a British accent, just like most british people can't do an American accent.
Also, the poll that I mentioned, had, among many others:
Charlie Sheen as Wormtail - Well, he does have that pale-skinned, creepy look about him.
Jane Lynch as Umbridge - I could see that.
Chritopher Walken as Voldemort - That would be cool.

But I wonder which American could play Bellatrix? Juliette Lewis?

Bellatrix would be the biggest problem for me, I really loved Helena Bonham Carter so anyone else playing the part just couldn't be as good!

Never underestimate the allure of money. Some coroprate fat cat will always be willing to cash in on it.
And, if they tried making the series again, they would have one MAJOR threat to contend with: US.

In my opinion, they probably will. Maybe 40-60 years from now.
If I'm still alive if the movies came out, I wouldn't watch it. I could not imagine anyone playing the characters. British remake maybe, but American? NO

I think the likelihood of a remake is heavy

Don't forget how Disney wrecks history, with their "Historical Movies" such as Pocahontas...

A remake will most likely happen after J.K. Rowling dies, would you watch it? Do you think that the developers would have the same respect for the books that they do now?
