Jason Bergman (loonyboi) Has anyone read this book?

I've heard about this for a while, and it's finally out in English and available on Kindle.

It's basically groundhog day with aliens and crazy mech fighting.

Sounds good to me!

No, Alexander O. Smith is one of the leading translators in the field. You might be familiar with his work in the last half dozen Final Fantasy games.

The Japanese title is in English (or Engrish):

It's a reference to the Beatles song, "All You Need Is Love."

Wouldn't the English form be "All You Need is Death"? Having "Kill" at the end sounds like bad English.

Jason Bergman (loonyboi) Finished reading this over the weekend. Really fun read. Definitely an anime Groundhog Day, but there's nothing wrong with that!

Highly recommended if you're looking for a brief book with lots of dudes killing weird aliens.

Jason Bergman (loonyboi) I'm mentioning this book one more time, because I'm playing through Modern Warfare 3: Modern Warfarier, and it's reminding me a lot of AYNIK. Not because of any aliens or time loops, but because in the afterwords, the author says his inspiration was the endless death/retry loop of a lot of video games.

MW3 is absolutely like this (at least in single player), because everything is so heavily scripted. It's not really about skill in single player, it's about learning where to go and in what order in order to survive.

Anyway, I still recommend the book. :)
