Well, I finished my new book. Sort of. The tentatively titled, Mask of Humanity, stands at around 84,000 words and for now, I've had enough of it so have printed it off and handed it to my other half to read through. I don't doubt that it'll come back covered in red ink but it's a very worthwhile thing to do.
I also set up a website/blog, because I suppose I need one. However, I need inspiration to populate it with. Here's the link. http://markrfaulkner.com/
And, I'm very pleased to say I won an award on Rosen's Indie Book Bargains, which I'm chuffed with. Flux got joint winner in the Horror category. Well done to everyone who took part in and benefited from this.

I can see my book on my kindle now. Am happy

Or it was you writing a good book.
I always get excited when I see a book or author I like to champion get into the top 100.

There's feckin' 3 Dickens' books below me on the same page. To be shown on the same page as that makes me go a bit funny inside.

My the blog part of my site is beginning to take shape. The rest will follow I'm sure.

In the meantime, I've reduced the price on Flux for a while.

The new novel is almost complete, I'm at the point now where one more read-through should get it as good as I can without outside intervention. I'm aiming to hand it over by the end of the month, then we'll have to see how much red ink is on the MS. After then I'll be querying agents but also gearing up for self-publication. At the moment I have early September in mind for a publication date.
Essentially, it's a dark fantasy about someone getting possessed. Working title is 'The Black Stone.'
Thanks
Mark

ms is back with the editor again. so far so good, looks like it's only the odd typo and misplaced capital letter now so hopefully it'll soon be ready to show someone else, which I'm a bit nervous about.

"All this weekend and very possibly for the last time - unless I change my mind, which I doubt - Flux, is being given away for free on Amazon.
I feel humbled by some of the reviews it's received, even the bad ones. My next book has a lot to live up to.

Seriously, I'd like to say thanks to anyone who's reviewed Flux. It might not be the biggest seller of all time, but to receive such a positive reaction is more than I ever hoped for.

on a separate note, does anyone fancy taking the book for a test drive?

I have a nice cuppa tea and some galaxy chocolate.
