Feel free to post your thoughts!

I read both of these books a couple years ago and loved them. I've always hoped for a third book!

Without going anywhere to check, I don't think so. I thought when we were reading these before and she was participating in the group she said she was working on something, but I could be wrong. I remember she was pregnant and had a baby during that time too so she's probably been busy with her little one. :)

Nicole (nicole21) | 573 comments Those are the only ones listed on both her website and Goodreads, but she does make mention of having published a short story about Brooke from these two books. Her site has what's supposed to be a link to that short story, but it's no longer up.

Hmm....I'll have to check that out...

Melanie (mcipher) | 372 comments I read the first a couple years ago and just read the second a few months ago, and I loved them! She doesn't have another book out that I can find, which bummed me out. I hope she does write another one, though.

Kourtney (readthateventually) | 1215 comments Me too! I was always hoping for a third book in the series, or a whole new cast of characters!

Yes, Scot is first and Jack is second. You've got to read them, they're soooo good!

Nicole (nicole21) | 573 comments I picked up both books at the library today, so I'll start reading soon.

You're going to love them! :)

Nicole (nicole21) | 573 comments Just finished Scot of the Rocks. It was interesting that it was told more in a retrospective than the present like chick lit usually is. I also liked the self awareness shown in the book, like the statement about how Brooke knows the ex always comes back because she's read Jane Austen. I loved little moments like that.

***spoiler if you haven't finished***

I was surprised the book ended with Brooke and Jack together. She pissed him off pretty good, so I figured (knowing the second book has Jack in the title) that he'd take a long time to forgive her and that would be what the second book is about. So now I'm very curious about Jack with a Twist. Good thing I got both from the library.

I'm so glad you liked it Nicole! I'm sure you'll like Jack just as well as Scot. :) I can totally see these books being made into movies.

Nicole (nicole21) | 573 comments Reading Jack now. Love the book, absolutely hate Jack!! I sincerely hope Brooke dumps his ass. I have a feeling that they'll break up or have a big fight, but then get back together for the happily ever after so I'll only partially get my wish. Hopefully Jack will have grown up enough to stand up to his passive aggressive family (who arranges for lobster salad after being explicitly told some of the bride's family keeps kosher??) by the end of the book.

Nicole (nicole21) | 573 comments Alright, got to hand it to Brenda. She somehow pulled off getting me to come around to being like, "Marry him, Brooke!" Jack said just the right things in that speech. However, I didn't like the ending. It pisses me off when otherwise intelligent, responsible women in books, movies, and TV get pregnant because maybe they didn't take the pill everyday or (my other ridiculous favorite) their doctor suggested they stop taking it for a while.

I agree with you on the pregnancy bit Nicole. But you still loved the books, right? :)
I'm hoping she'll write a third in the series.

message 18: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicole21) | 573 comments I did still love both books. There's definitely potential for a third book. I really want to find that short story about Brooke. Maybe if we contact Brenda she'll send it to us??

Oh! I had forgotten about that! She's on the site, maybe she would....

message 20: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicole21) | 573 comments Decided to look for it and found that Brenda's updated the link to the short story! So of course I find it when I'm 15 minutes away from directing a newscast, so I'm going to have to wait to read it.

Bianca (bbollinger) | 761 comments Oh noooo! They don't have these books on the Kindle! Bummer. I'll have to go to the library or Half Price Books to pick them up. I'm really excited to read them, though...they sound really good!!
