Did any watch this show Monday night? I did check it out and really enjoyed it. I thought so far it is a really good concept. I am curious to see how the season will go, I hate starting new shows I am always afraid it will be canceled.

I dvr'd it and watch it this morning. I liked it a lot by the end of the episode. It has a lot of potential. It's Alias with a twist. I think the casting was good. Christian Slater is great as Edward and Henry. It was amazing to watch him act like the two different people. I'm looking forward to the season. I'm afraid to get too hooked on anything either, Angie!
It was okay. Hadn't planned on watching it as I really wasn't interested, but needed to chill and that's all that was on that seemed remotely non-COMPLETELY-mind-numbing. It was better than I expected, but IF it lasts (big "if"), I think it's going to be limited as to how far it can go in plot before it gets to lame to follow. But could be interesting for a season or so.
What do you think about the main character changing back and forth in his personalities? Gets confusing but I think it is an interesting idea. Also we don't know which personality is the "real one". I think that they are adding some twists to the plot that are making the show more interesting.
SPOILERS (if you haven't watched the second episode)I'm getting worried that this really is just another Alias. The previews for next week show the man approaching Henry/Edward and asking about his employers. That's what happened with Sydney, she's working for the bad guys, thinking they are the good guys until someone exposes them to her and then she goes double agent. So if this is just a repeat of that, I'm going to get bored quick. It's a good idea, but it's been done.
I just watched the first one this morning (a little behind on my DVR stuff!!) and I really liked it. I thought it was a fun show.....Christian Slater is still oh so hot....and I thought the shift between the two personalities made it exciting. I hope it stays good!
I am still enjoying this show. Some of the twists have turned out good. I wonder if Henry's wife will turn out to be a spy?
Yes I'm liking this show too. The twists are imaginative and are keeping my interest. It would be really wild if his wife is a spy too.
OK - I take back my Alias comparison. This show has got me hooked now! I'm really really impressed with Christian Slater acting like Henry and Edward. I can totally tell who he is and when he's only acting like the one he's not "awake" as. Now let's hope this one doesn't get cancelled!
I can too Melissa....he's doing an excellent job. I'm glad that I'm able to see him do what he does so well every single week instead of just two hours in a movie.
He has never been one of my favorite actors. I've never really loved him or hated him, but I'm loving him now! It helps that I like both Henry and Edward. I'm also glad that it's on late because it's one I watch "real time" instead of later on the dvr. It's quickly becoming my favorite show.
Oh you guys are gonna be pissed......... just saw this from Eonline"Los Angeles (E! Online) – Multiple reliable sources have just confirmed that NBC has given the ax today to My Own Worst Enemy (starring Christian Slater) and Lipstick Jungle (starring Brooke Shields, Kim Raver and Lindsay Price).
NBC is not commenting. However, insiders say that no further episodes have been ordered for either series.
Despite a promising premise, Enemy never got off the ground in the Nielsens. Lipstick too, struggled to find a wide audience, despite a small but devoted fanbase and having received a second chance for a sophomore season. (Lipstick's first season was cut short by the writers strike.)
One upside to these cuts?
This clears the way for more appreciation of Joss Whedon's upcoming series Dollhouse, which has a somewhat similar premise to Enemy (agents who have implanted and wholly fabricated personas).
Still, in this season of lackluster newbies, it's a shame that an interesting and complex (though ultimately flawed in execution) series like Enemy couldn't make it work.
I'm also told by insiders that NBC hopes to work with Slater again. So the good news is this is probably not the last we've seen of him on TV.
Anyone going to miss these two shows? What loose ends would you like to see the resolution to?"
AAAHHHHHHH! I knew it. I just don't understand why a show can't even get one whole season anymore. Do all tv watchers have ADD now or something? I knew it was too good to be true. I should never started to like it so much. Thanks for the info.
I'm pissed too because I REALLY liked this one. I dont get it. And why CANT they just ever let the season play out?? I mean, if this is what is going to happen maybe they shouldn't put SO many shows on at one time. Just have 4 or 5 shows and then let them be. All it does is piss people off and make them not want to watch TV.
This is why I don't watch new shows anymore. I mean I love reality TV, but I agree with what someone said in one of these threads on here...it is pretty sad when reality can last season after season but a drama can't last more than 13 episodes.
No they won't. It will just end. I have this week's show taped still and I need to watch that. Its still on the cable guide for next week but I don't know if it will actually be on. I'll watch it though until they pull it...which most likely means this taped one will be it. Sucks.
I cant believe it, i wonder if angie is really part of the whole thing. that would be really messed up. and i mean imagine lying all that time they were together and stuff. every night it gets crazier and crazier, i cant wait for tonight :)))))))
i'm so irritated at the cancelling notice! there have only been 4 shows! i made a promise to myself this year that i was not going to watch any new shows. for the very reason of they cancel them all before they get a chance. then i broke my promise to myself because it is so hard to resist, they lure us in with promises of great characters, adventure, laughs, intrigue, and mystery...the only reason i started to watch this one is out of respect for slater. i have always really liked him as an actor, so i watched it for him initially but then i ended up really liking it and am watching it for me now! grrrrrr! i hate watching new shows!
I am wondering how simmilar Dollhouse will be to this. I'd say that is probably the most talked about series of the season(the crazy ads that said Fringe was cause it was an Abrams project are crazy, I didn't here about it till about a week before it came out, not to mention Wheadon has loyal fans). I love Wheadon and Dushku, but am worried about the whole 'alias' aspect. I just don't buy into covert non-gov with that kind of power. After all, we all know the CIA actually controls everything.
I am a huge Whedon fan, and I am very skeptical of Dollhouse... Aside from Dushku, the cast is pretty yawn worthy and the premise from what I read has a pretty "been there, done that" feel for me. It will be interesting to see what twist he puts on it. I would like to see him just come out with at Watcher Coucil show already - lol... guess that was just a dream I had...
From Wikipedia:In Dollhouse, Dushku plays a young woman named Echo, a member of a group of people known as "Actives" or "Dolls." The Dolls have had their personalities wiped clean so they can be imprinted with any number of new personas, including memory, muscle memory, skills, and language, for different assignments. They're then hired out for particular jobs, crimes, fantasies, and occasional good deeds. On missions, Actives are monitored internally (and remotely) by Handlers. In between tasks, they are mind-wiped into a child-like state and live in a futuristic dormitory/laboratory, a hidden facility nicknamed "The Dollhouse". The story follows Echo, who begins, in her mind-wiped state, to become self-aware.
I'm hoping this show is good. I don't know what to think yet based on what I've read but I really hope its good
What a crappy ending. If NBC knew for weeks this was going to be canceled why didn't they wrap it up? I can't believe the last episode was just part of the season, nothing resolved. I think that is pretty crappy when a network knows a show will end. The only reason I continued watching after I found out it was canceled is because I thought they would end the series.
They shoot typically the first several episodes of the season at once and take a break, I think. So they just simply don't call the actors back to do any more shooting when they decide to cancel the show. That said, they never have a chance to wrap it up - they only air what has been completed.
