So, i've been a Harry Potter Fan since I was like 9 (Im 23 now) and after the last book came out, i've been trying to find something as good and thrilling as Harry Potter, but I haven't been able to find something like this. You guys have any recommendations?

--> Yeah fantasy books! i've tried some but their not like really good, when i finish them i have the feeling that something's missing in them!

If you're like me then you're probably a little bias against other books that have to do with witches and wizards so you really shouldn't read a book similar to HP. The Hunger Games is a great book.

Figure out what sort of thing you're looking for first then go to a bookshop or library and start looking at the books, find some that intrigue you or may be of some interest and just go mad. There are loads of books and series out there that can hold up to Harry Potter, you just need to go out and find them.

I can't help unless I know what other genres you're interested in.

How about books about Narnina? I heard that they are great and I'm looking forward to read it.

I read the Inkheart books after Harry potter and they were fantastic.
Another series is the Fablehaven books.

The last Apprentice series is quite well.

I like the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan a lot. I also like the Sisters Grimm series by Michael Buckley. I haven't found a lot of other series that are on the same caliber of Herry Potter in terms of magic and wizardry though. Check out the recommendations on the site here.

The Fablehaven series is one of my favorites. It takes time to get into, but the worldbuilding is absolutely amazing. I also agree with Aurora about the Percy Jackson series.

If you want a heavy but thrilling read, go for the Chaos Walking series.

i agree about percy jackson and narnia series. those are great books.

Read Eragon for sure ( and if you enjoy it, there are 3 more books in the series! ). Also, if you haven't read the Hobbit & LOTR then you're missing out...

I've heard good things about The Hunger Games, too, though I won't fully recommend it until I read it myself ;)

Personally I'd read the golden compass books. That's what I did after reading Harry Potter. The golden compass series is amazing. Of course it was over shadowed by the Harry Potter series, but overall it is a great read.

As a HP fan Myself, I understand the difficulty. I have two recommendations for you, Bot are series and they are totally different from HP but well worth the read.

1. The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Outlander

This series (there are seven with the eighth to be released next year) is excellent. I have read it at least 10 times.

2. The Girl with a Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson.
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

This book can be a bit graphic, rape murder ect. (you said your 23, I was 21 when I read it) But the suspense of it is great. I read the trilogy in a week.

Neither of these suggestions resemble HP at all, but I think it will be hard to find books that are similar but not too similar. I love fantasy but felt like every book I read was the same basic quest. I needed to branch out a bit and have found some fantastic authors in doing so. Hope this helps!

What kind of books are you looking for? More YA type things? or just Fantasy in general? And are you looking for another series?
