Swimming Pool Sunday
question
Was the editing bad for everyone or just me?

I recently read this book and could not believe the number of mistakes throughout it!!!!
I have read two other Madeleine Wickham books and neither or these had such poor editing.
On a lot of occasions when 'I' should have been written, instead the number one '1' was used. There were a lot of full stops in the middle of a sentence and comas at the end of a paragraph instead of a full stop.
Then there were often words with the occasional incorrect letter e.g. hails instead of nails, be instead of he and bim instead of him.
There was also a capital letter in the middle of a word and once the word 'runt' or something similar was used when it most definitely should have been the word first.
I have never read a book with such poor editing and can't believe none of her others have been badly edited if this one has. However, the book was still good and I would read another one of hers hoping the editing had been done correctly.

I haven't noticed anything, but I have read a copy with another cover, so maybe they have corrected the mistakes? But if that's right what you're saying, then I think there is something wrong with the publisher! A little mistake OK, but not whole the time!
