I have only been a member of the group for a couple of days but would really like to recommend this book. It is not a novel but is a description of a journey made by a teacher who has decided to go work in a village school in India.
Because he has always express views about the pollution caused by air travel to his primary school pupils he decides to do the whole journey by bicycle.
The book describes his journey in detail, is a good read and has lots of humour but at the same time makes some important observations about the role of women in different countries on his journey.
I certainly found that once I started reading it I didn't want to put it down. it certainly isn't a literary masterpiece but it is a thoroughly enjoyable read and even better it is free!
Give it a try I am sure will enjoy it

It was one of the first books I read as well, and found that I could easily bypass the typos because the story was so amazing, and so funny at times !

I have to firstly apologise to all kindle readers for the typos - my publishers thought it was more important to get the book out there than get the kindle version edited. So, sorry. Second fully edited version coming very soon.

Any of you fancy living your dreams? I've set up an initiative to raise 1million pounds for the charity Keep a Child Alive in the next year - it's gonna be fun, we're gonna do things we thought were impossible, and, most importantly, we're gonna allow people in Africa and Asia suffering from AIDS to have a future and to perhaps come up with their own dreams.
