And I loved it! Haha!
I loved this so much. It was really got me into YA in the first place. Mr. Quirk you have have have HAVE to read this!
With a glowing recommendation like that, how could I not? Think I'll head over to the book store now...

I read it for the neverending quiz and its OK. The idea is barbaric like the Roman games. I read the first two of them but decided not to read the third one. You will probably like it as tons of action. She is very accomplished with the bow and arrow if I remember right and I did like that but I identify more with Bella Swan.
I am curious, how did you chose the name Catch? Is it your favorite name?
After you read The Hunger Games you will be able to do at least 100 neverending quiz questions for that book.
Catch

lol, that's true. As for Catch ... that was just his name, I didn't really come up with it, it was decided already. It's difficult to explain : )
Oh, now I am burning with curiosity! He must be based on a real person. I think of that line: Be careful or I'll put you in my novel. My hubby is always saying he is going to put our niece in his novel.
Now my imagination will be working overtime.

It is loosely based on a real person... : ))

Ah, that makes sense. Now he is even more interesting. Thanks for letting me know.

I read half the book and didn't like it thats my opioion
I wasn't really a big fan of the first half either. It took 150 pages to get picked, ride a train, then start the games. After that it got a lot better.

Haha glad to be some assistance! :)
Yes you were, thanks! I'll definitely be reading the series now.

Send me some if you find any I haven't done, thanks.

I definitely enjoyed the first. I'm looking forward to reading the others in the series. 3 times ... wow! I'm looking forward to the movie too. I hope they do it justice.

I didn't know Woody Harrelson was in The Hunger Games! I love him!

Hey Sarah, I felt EXACTLY like that too. Actually the first 150 pages are like that. But it does get better after that.

Have you seen the trailer? So far so good....

Today at the library I was telling the new librarian I hope to see Breaking Dawn soon and she told me she is waiting for The Hunger Games. She called me around to watch the trailer and we both cried. Its too sad seeing all those young people dying but the heroine does seem to be perfect for her part.
I prefer movies that don't make me cry. When is One for the Money coming out? Its too funny or at least the book is. One for the Money

I'm just worried about how much longer it'll be until that sort of thing becomes a reality? I mean, we aren't really all that far removed from the Roman gladiator days are we?

If you see it you will note that Hollywood did an incredible job on her make-up so that she looked like a concentration camp victim (per my husband) and its unbearable. A friend warned me. Let me know what you think?

I still haven't seen the new movie. Haven't had time. Hope it's good.

I agree. I understand the fact that they may have to change it to fit into a movie form, but, sometimes they take it too far.

I like the trailer for the movie, but it already seems different than the book. It isn't at all what I thought it would be like.
I hate it when they change things too much, too. If it were my book...I'd be so upset if they changed too much. This is why I'm writing my own script. :)

Yeah, I would be really frustrated as well! But, I didn't notice too many changes in the trailer. Could you point some out? I thought it looked almost identical. either way, I'm excited for the release. I still need to read the next two books.
I need to read the next 2 books as well. I'm curious where it goes from here.

Yeah, me too. I would be reading it now, but I have your book, both my friend's books and another random book I am reading right now. LOL But, then, then I will.
That's a lot of books at once lol. I'll do 2 at the most (at a time). I don't think there's enough room in my brain for 4!

Someone just said that to me like an hour ago, weird. Haha. I didn't think I would be able to follow along to be honest, but so far I haven't gotten confused! It takes a lot longer to read them all, but it's worth it! I am hoping to finish my friend Lisette's book before our meeting this weekend in Pasedena. I wanted to talk to her about it.
But I'll know something's up if in your review of my book you talk about how much you loved it when Molly was in the Keys attending her sister's wedding and went on an undersea carriage ride right after the ceremony! lol...

Oh so you you know Molly huh? LMAO. I really hope that doesn't happen. But, I think I'll be okay. Molly can stay on dry land, and Augie can stay with Mira under the sea. And all of Rachel Thompson's snarkiness toward men, can stay in her book. As for futuristic rebellion and love, I will keep that in Ally Condie's book too.
Snarkiness toward men? Is there such a thing? I mean, we are, after all, wondrous wonders of creation filled with nought but good intentions and chivalrous hearts!
Right? : )
Right? : )

Right? : )"
You are absolutely right!....about the rare few who are like that. Haha. She's very funny, men even enjoy the books. She just points out stuff men do, and calls it the MANCODE.
Unfortunately it is a rare few. I'm going to have to give it a look.

Well, there's a lot of talk about hair, ball scratching, poop, and snot. LOL It's interesting.

Ha! :)
As far as the trailer, hmmm...The biggest things I can point out are mainly things that weren't how I pictured them to be. Katniss seems too brave from the get-go, where in the book she didn't seem as strong to me. The props, etc. all look pretty normal, I think. I was picturing something more outlandish, maybe a little bit more dark. That, and I noticed they took the cornucopia out, which I find strange.
Most of it is just my opinion, accept for that last thing, which might be in the movie, but not in the trailer. All in all, it still looks good, but not like how I pictured it.
