Shannon (shananigansreads) I currently have an Aluratek ereader (which I have loved) but it will no longer open new files. :-( So it seems I will soon be in the market for a new ereader. It needs to support ePub and PDF files as a lot of my ebooks come from my local public library. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good one? I've tried a Pandigital one and had the WORST experience ever with it. Now I'm kind of leaning towards a NOOK Color but was wondering if there was anything better.

Jackie (thenightowl) I've owned the NookColor since early March of this year and it has paid for itself. I love mine!!! I like that I can read, surf the web and it has some nice apps available. I particularly love the Pulse app, which is free. You can get whatever kind of news you want using the app. However, don't be fooled into thinking that it works like a tablet. It doesn't. The web connection is a bit slow and some sites that are not droid enabled can be a bit of a pain to surf.

One of my friends has the simple touch Nook, which she loves. The only thing is you can't surf the web with it.

I have two friends with Kindles, but the problem is you can't borrow from the library yet. Although, from my understanding that feature is supposed to be coming out at some point.

Nancy I have the first edition Nook and I love it. I was one of those readers who thought that I would never, ever get an e-reader, but since I've had one, I often wonder why I didn't get one sooner. Mine doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the Nook Color, but all I wanted was an e-reader. The only time I turn on my WiFi is when I want to download books.

Fani *loves angst* (fanip) I have a Sony 650 for almost a year and it works fine for me. Very good touch screen and reads all kinds of files except DOC and kindle ones.

Hayley Stewart (haybop) I've had a Sony pocket eReader since last christmas - it's not all-singing, all-dancing but it does exactly what it says on the tin and lets you read your books :)
