Allan | 4 comments I have been writing a paper and been using quotes found on the internet which are attributed by everyone to the same person. However, I need a specific source. Is there somewhere where i can find sources of a particular quote? for instance, I am quoting Mary Angelou saying that “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” Every site agrees that she said/wrote it, but noone has pinned it down to a specific source. Any ideas?
Thanks

Kim | 607 comments Wikiquote doesn't even have that quote

Allan | 4 comments Maybe they don't but Goodreads does -

Kim | 607 comments Yes but Wikiquotes has sources. This quote seems to have no source. Quoteland doesn't have it either. I'd say it's just somehow been attached to Maya Angelou but not by her.

Gerd | 1050 comments Problem is you can't always cite quotes properly in GoodReads (not that it's meant to), for example when they appear as part of an interview or in books where the person is not named as contributor.

I've added two Douglas Adams quotes from "Don't Panic" for example, but because the book is from Neil Gaiman the source can't be added to them.

Ron (librarianmu) | 22 comments You might also try checking in her books (such as in Amazon's Search Inside this Book) for the quote.
