Does anyone know if this quote is legit? I don't recall the line and no play is cited. It sounds more like the Duke (John Wayne) than the Bard (Shakespeare) ...

I believe these should be combined. So far as I can determine, Hinckley is the real source: http://www.lds.org/ensign/1971/06/exc...

The sentence does not appear in the Project Gutenberg text of Jane Eyre: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/1260

Please fix the tag on this quote Dimitir should be changed to Dimitri

For consistency the tag on
http://www.goodreads.com/quotes/show/...
should be changed to Dimitri as well (from dimitri-belikov)

Personally I prefer full names as tags but there are already 51 with the tag dimitri and 1 with the tag dimitri-belikov

message 269: by Ana (new)

Ana | 151 comments I just came across this quote

“The trouble with quotes on the internet is that it’s difficult to discern whether or not they are genuine.”

that's allegedly by Lincoln. Somehow I doubt the validity.

Can you please delete this quote?

http://www.goodreads.com/quotes/combi...

Ramisa Raya, the author, is a close friend of mine and was telling me about how she never wrote that quote in first place and would feel dishonest claiming it as her own.

Does it not appear in the book that is being cited?

There are several "Sleepless Beauty" books, the quote seems to be from this one:

I have a feeling that it is a bit more complicated than that but given that Remy is also a librarian I suppose she could simply delete the quote herself.

Gouri (gourianil) | 20 comments no.i live in india and in my school library i've read many books published in india.when i searched it i couldn't find them on goodreads.

message 286: by Kim (new)

Kim | 607 comments This isn't the right thread for this topic but when you search for a book and can't find it there is a link on the right hand side to manually add a book. Fill out all the information from the author/publisher site - don't use Amazon or a booksellers site. If you need any further help with the books make a new thread here and we will help you.

message 291: by [deleted user] (last edited Apr 09, 2012 03:39PM) (new)

Could someone please correct this? It should be W.B.Yeats, not W.E.Yeats.

http://www.goodreads.com/author/quote...

And so should this:

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/69...

Actually, it looks as if they have misspelled the author's name on the book cover. I don't know what you do about that. But the quote is definitely from W.B.Yeats, not W.E.Yeats (who doesn't exist).

message 297: by Banjomike (new)

Banjomike | 5166 comments Please can a super change the attribution for this quote to Maurice Switzer.

http://www.goodreads.com/quotes/show/363

Our friends at Quote Investigator have checked this one and decided that it most likely belongs to Maurice Switzer not least because the earliest recorded attribution to Lincoln was in 1931, over 60 years after his death.

to:

Our friends at Quote Investigator have checked this one as well. The earliest reference seems to be 1990!
