Jane sat on a white bench, twirling a flower between her fingers. Her hair fluttered slightly in the light breeze. The sun shone down cheerfully on her pink scrub-like clothes.

Wen walked out, Cinder holding his hand tightly.

She glanced up to see them and waved excitedly.

Wen looked at her with a confused expression, but waved back. "Cinder...Who's that?"

"I don't know, dear."

"Hello," she called out.

"Hello," Wen smiled, waving. "I'm Wen."

"I'm Jane!" she shouted excitedly.

"Jane? That's a pretty name. I...I think I have a sister named Jane, but it is spelled different, probably."

She tilted her head like a bird. "Oh, really? That's wonderful."

He smiled, nodding.

((Maybe... How about they were involved in some experiment and they were normal before and the experiment messed up and now they are struggling to return to normal?))

She patted the empty bench next to her. "Sit, sit, sit!"

Wen smiled, sitting next to her. "I'm Wen," he repeated. "Like the time. When."

"Oh, that's neat," she said with an emphatic nod.

He smiled, then waved at Cinder, who was still standing next to the birdbath.

"Who is she?" Jane pointed to Cinder.

"She's my friend. Her name's Cinder. Like Cinderella. Except she doesn't have any mousy friends. Just me."

[Ji Mei]

Jane giggled. "That's silly. Why doesn't she have mousy friends? She's a princess, rightsies?"

"She should be a princess. 'Cos she's really nice. And she's pretty. But her husband isn't a prince...But sometimes I pretend I'm a mouse, to make her feel like Cinderella." Wen smiled childishly.

[Ji Mei]

Jane nodded and waved to Cinder. "Hello, princess," she called out.

Cinder started, and smiled, waving to Jane. She knew she wasn't a princess, but if she argued with them, they might get even more confused.

She squealed when she waved back and looked to Wen in excitement. "The princess saw me! She waved back!"

Wen smiled. "She's really nice."

"Yes, she is! I wonder if she has a pumpkin carriage."

"I don't know...I think there's pumpkins in the back..."

"Really?" Jane stared at him, wide-eyed. "Maybe we should see if they turned into carriages!"

Wen smiled, "Yeah! I want a carriage, to take me to the ball, where I can meet a princess."

[Ji Mei]

"Oh, and I can meet a prince and see white horses!" Jane exclaimed and jumped to her feet.

Wen smiled. "Do you like horses?"

((Yes! That's what I'm thinking! I wonder... should I make another charrie that is more of his age?))

Jane nodded. "Yes, I love them! They're so pretty."

"I like horses, too," he grinned.

She held out her hand. "Let's go see the pumpkins! And we'll find horsies!"

Wen smiled, standing up and taking her hand.

Jane beamed and started to pull him along the path.

Cinder watched them, but decided they couldn't do much harm in the pumpkin patch...Unless they started to throw them.

Jane waved to Cinder. "Princess! We need to get your carriage so you won't be late for an important date!"

She smiled. "I'll let you get it. So you can ride in it. I've already ridden in it."

[Ji Mei]

Jane stared at her in amazement. "Really? You would do that for me? Thank you!"

Cinder smiled, nodding. "Go have fun."

Wen laughed, looking ahead. "This is so cool!"

Jane skipped along beside him, humming a happy tune.

Jane turned to his in shock. "I know that song!"

Jane frowned as she tried to remember that but all there was a blank space and those voices... Jane shook her head and squeezed her eyes shut. "I don't remember that," she said.

He frowned. "My Cinderella sings it..."

She shrugged and smiled. "Oh, well. Anyways, are we there yet?"

She started to jump in delight. "Oh, look! They're orange!"
