Hannah Parker | 16 comments I find that divergent and the hunger games are almost the same thing. And now they both have a film coming out!!!! Which book would you chose over the other?
I personally feel like I would chooses the hunger games because it was first in my heart….but then when I think about divergent I start to like it more.

Nikkie (LimitlessNikkie) | 57 comments Hunger Games for me. For me that trilogy will always stand out and have a place in my heart, I still can remember those books as if I'd read them yesterday and not months ago where Divergent while good is already pretty fuzzy after only 8 weeks.

Sᴀᴅɪʏᴀ omg people! what is it with people and comparing books. I mean each book is unique and different. stop going: is it better than this? and stuff. it;s ok to compare books from a same series or by the same author but comparing it to something else is just rude and annoyin. ((just stating an opinion))

Nikkie (LimitlessNikkie) | 57 comments We can't have favorites if we don't compare books to others we've read, it's just sharing opponions on what everyone thinks is better and what currently rates as their favorite of the two. As long as everyone is respectful of everyone elses oppinion sometimes it's fun to see what made one group of people like say Divergent more then Hunger Games while another group liked Hunger Games more.

The Hunger Games. It is one of the main young-adult books that EVERYONE should read. I'm much more hyped out about its film than the Divergent one. In fact... I didn't even know that a Divergent film will be released...

Nikkie (LimitlessNikkie) | 57 comments Neither did I though admittedly I pay little attention to what books rights are sold untill production is acually taking place.

I think the Hunger Games is more 'classic'. and more people know about it.

message 10: by Sᴀᴅɪʏᴀ (new)

Sᴀᴅɪʏᴀ i still feel people shouldn't compare books but i thought about it and i found out it just irritates me when they say 'isn't this book just like Harry Potter? or Twilight? Or whatever other book title they know of. that's annoying especially when they compare flaws to other books strengths and stuff. but if it's about what you liked better i think ((now)) is different.
so i have to say i like The Hunger Games a wee bit better

~❤Rikka❤~ *living is just a symptom of dying* | 159 comments i think i vote for divergent =] i have a sorta short attention span and i lost interest i little after the start of the second book of the hunger games (STILL HAVEN'T FINISHED YET!) so i may change opinions =P but divergent had (i think) all of my fav stuff in it! a li'l romance (not so much that i wanted to go ewww...), adventure, fighting scenes, emotional stuff (it was SO SAD when both Tris's parents died), parts when the main character is ACTUALLY COOL and NOT ACTING and now im too lazy to write everything about it that i like down =P maybe next time?

message 12: by Feathery (new)

Feathery Fe (featheryfe) I'd say the society of Hunger Games was great but I'd rather read Divergent agian over The Hunger Games. It's the kind of book you read over and over, Hunger Games bored me at parts and I put it down. Divergent was done within the day.

A.Roma 🇵🇸 (man-u4kb) ill definetly say THE HUNGER GAMES!! though i love Four but Peetas better!!

message 14: by Makg (new)

Makg | 10 comments Divergent HANDS DOWN!The Hunger Games was good too, but after the first book it got hard to focus on the storyline and in the end I just stopped reading it. With Divergent I was hooked until the end. But at the end of the day, I love both Four and Peeta!but i prefer tris over katniss

message 15: by nikelover (new)

nikelover | 8 comments they were both pretty good, I'd see both both films.

Ain020596 | 1 comments I don't think you can compare them:)

Tris and Katniss are complete opposites. Four and Peeta are too. The relationship between each couple is unique, and so is the dystopian world:)

For me, Divergent is the better series mostly because I can relate more to Tris, I adore Four and the world building is intriguing. But most importantly, I feel like Tris is who I wanted Katniss to be. She deals with her emotions, she gets over her fear of being in a relationship with him and she just gets stronger and perseveres harder with each book. There's something to be said about her character development that just isn't the same as the HG trilogy- Tris gets stronger while Katniss becomes more broken. And just for that, I adore Divergent.

Emily Shaver (emilydianne) | 1 comments Divergent will always be my favorite book. I love all the characcters andI just like the plot better. Hunger games is a good book, but not one of my favorites.

message 19: by Anna (new)

Anna M (sprinklesplease) DIVERGENT!!! I feel there is more depth, and aspects to the story.

message 20: by Matilda (new)

Matilda | 5 comments DIVERGENT 4ever!! I feel that the hunger games become a bit "repetitive" after the second book...
Anyway I didn't know there was a movie coming out for divergent...
