We were raised to fight the enemy, be it Satan or environmentalists and feminists; to come against them in spiritual warfare and at the polls.

Cora Judd (corajudd) | 163 comments This reads so much like the way Mormons think as well:
birth control is something between selfish and sinful, the "Us v. the World" view, and family life filled with so much church-dictated, dogma-saturated activity that a person isn't free to explore any other way of thinking, let alone examine exactly why they believe.

The really sad point was how her dream "...of anything else was nipped in the bud before it ever took root", so that the only thing left for her to aspire to was keeping house and birthing babies.

MadgeUK It is dreadful to think that there are still women in the west locked into this dogma:(:(. In the East, lack of education drives it but presumably most of these women have had a decent education and should be able to 'get out from under' by, say, running away and getting a job.
