ASSSSSSH! <3

I'm so in love with him !

So girls , i'm 17, I have my special guy , now we have been dating for about 2 years, he makes me laugh all the time and he is cute and caring. On my birthday he took me to a fancy restaurant and got me books. Cause he knows that i'm all about books! I think i wanna get married when i finished university and have babies but for now i wanna travel and meet the world. I'm kinda of a free spirit i don't like being stuck in the same place, i love traveling with my gf's :D
Last year, i went to London with two best friends that was one of my funniest memories :D
I think the reason i love reading it's that books allows me to travel to be in a "new skin" with another life in another time <3

message 252: by Tess (new)

Tess I completely agree with the fact that books allow you to travel with a new skin and allow you to do things you would never be able to do.

That is so cute he sounds really sweet! do you think he's the one? He sounds really special and he sounds like a keeper you're lucky that you found him so young!

I also love to travel sadly i've never been to a different country/continent i've only been to four states as well, but once i graduate high school i plan to take a couple years off for traveling before going to college! :) The main places i would love to travel are Hawaii (i know that it's part of the united states but it looks gorgeous), Anywhere in Europe like France, Italy, London anything like that, Australia, some states here such as: Arizona, California, Florida, Maine, i would also LOVE to go to Canada, and Mexico!

Oh.My.God. You just gave me an enire ROMANCE book in 1 para! And im happy to say it sated my romantic heart! that is SOOOOOOO sweet! :D r u sure theres no awkwardnes between ur exes?

and btw i totaly understand your preggy prob! it's so irritating!!Cany u guess where i learnt that u cant ahve alcohol when ure preggy? I learnt this from the last scene in the movie Bride wars! HAHA! you know, the movie anne hathaway and kate hudson! it's hilarious! anyway bak to ur preggy thing, ppl just ASSUME evrything when they DONT know anything! I want to have 2 kids, but after atLEAST 5 years of marriage. do you plan on having sex with ur husband after your child gets into the walking phase and knows whats going on in her surroundings? cuz some parents dont so that they dont accidentally expose their kids to this when theyre lyk, 5 years. im not sure about it though...i think i wnat a 5 year honeymooon, becuz the h/m's over when you start having kids...

Jessica (j_p_higgins) Tess - I just love what your mom said when you were little about where babies come from, that is the best explanation I've ever heard!

Mariana - that's so cute, will you are your bf go to university together? I can't believe all the places you have been! So jealous! I've just been to 7 states here in the US and all were in the Southeast except for the one time I took a plane to Seattle, WA. I really want to visit Oregon, California, I'll skip New York and Canada just cuz I don't like the cold, and then I'd like to see Australia, Brazil, India and anywhere in Europe. I've had many dreams of joining a circus so that I could get paid to travel. (I am in LOVE the circus BTW, my husband and I got to a different one every year, it's like our little tradition).

Daphne - aww that's nice to think I'm a living romance novel and lol yea no awkwardness. I guess it's like... we're all from this same little circle of friends and for some reason no matter who dated whom we always found a way to all stay together. Like we all always put the whole group before relationships, no matter what happened, always friends. We both broke up with our exes around the end of high school at about 17 or 18 and then we didn't date each other until... we were about 21 or 22 I think. So I think the years in between cured any potential awkwardness, plenty of time for the exes to date other people and get over any lingering feelings. I'm not sure how to describe what it feels like seeing an ex after 4 years.... it's like I still felt close to my ex like friends because we shared that but I no longer had any romantic feelings for him and vice versa. There are a few other exes of each other among us as well, but out of the few of us married already we are the only ones who married within the group. We make sure we all meet up at least every couple of months and it's always fun, never awkward. Yea I guess it's the years in between that helped. Some of our parents joke that it would be funny if the two of our exes dated, but that would NEVER happen. No one in the group would ever say that. They get along, but there's never been any spark whatsoever between them. Sadly, they are both still single though.

lol I loved Bride Wars!! Pretty much anything with either one of them in it I have liked. About the sex thing - I think it would be detrimental on a relationship (in marriage) to not have sex for a really long period of time honestly. It's just that is a big part of a relationship and it's really not just physical. Not exactly sure how to explain why. It's something that did not make sense to me until I was married for a while. I mean... they can go to grandma and grandpa's at least twice a week lol. That wouldn't be a big deal. It's not necessary to do that every single day or anything. Yea... kids can wait.. I'll stay on the honeymoon a little longer!

p.s. my husband just finished reading the Hunger Games and loved it! lol he keeps saying, "If I was in the hunger games..." and "Can we set up target practice in the backyard so we can practice and have the skills we need in case something happens and we end up in a dystopian world like that?" hahaha

Mariana Graça | 99 comments Jessica-Yeah we are going to university together, our destiny is crossed *blushes*
I love the circus i always dream about being a trapeze artist. Since i was a little girl i wanted to fly like a bird so that's close to fly lol

About your ps :its awesome that your husband read the same things that you read ! And I had the same reaction to the book i kept saying " what should i do if i was in the hunger games?" ahaha

Jessica (j_p_higgins) I'm excited guys, I have won 3 paperback books in the past two weeks from Goodreads!! I just enter for ones I am interested in, but that is a lot! Just got the first one in the mail yesterday. (I have found a ton of e-book giveaways for new authors too, but I'm just talking about paperback here) Do you guys enter the giveaways? How many books have you won?

I got these:
The Man in the Cinder Clouds by Rick Daley Morning Stories by Matthew Zakutny Burnout by Adrienne Maria Vrettos

I am really really excited to read Burnout, but i haven't gotten it in the mail yet.

And Tess I have a question for you - do you think a middle schooler (your age or probably younger) would like reading The Man in the Cinder Clouds (what you can tell from reading the description)? I've thought about giving it to a family member after I review it but here's the only thing... it seems to me like the grade level is weird. It's supposed to be a middle grades book about the 'true' story of Kris Kringle. That seems off to me because I would think most middle schoolers, even down to 6th grade, would think something about Kris Kringle - even a tale different than the norm - was uncool?

message 258: by Daphne, Prima Aphrodite (new)

Daphne Delacroix | 487 comments Mod
Um, Jess? No offense, but I think it's uncool, and I'm not much older than Tess. Kids below 10 will like it most.

message 259: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (j_p_higgins) yea I thought so!!! It's weird cuz the grade level for the text is middle grades, so someone younger would have to have someone read it to them... idk I think maybe the author should have made the text a lower reading level.

message 260: by Jessica (last edited Oct 27, 2011 07:30AM) (new)

Jessica (j_p_higgins) but idk i suppose I will actually read it first and see if I think a maybe a 4th grader could read it anyway... maybe it says middle grades but really a 4th grader might have the vocabulary to read it who knows.

Sry edit: Kids who are AVID READERS will read it if they are BELOW 10, but if these kids ARE NOT avid readers, they'll read it if they're below 13

message 262: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (j_p_higgins) that is an excellent point Daphne

Tess Daphne wrote: "Sry edit: Kids who are AVID READERS will read it if they are BELOW 10, but if these kids ARE NOT avid readers, they'll read it if they're below 13"

I agree with Daphne on this ^^^

I think some would be interested in it some wouldn't but it just depends on the kid i suppose :)

message 264: by Jessica (last edited Oct 27, 2011 02:53PM) (new)

Jessica (j_p_higgins) Thanks guys :)

I think I found the right fit - brother and sister - 5th grade boy avid reader and 3rd grade girl who reads above her grade level so if the boy thinks it's uncool, the girl should be able to read it.

so do you guys enter the giveaways on goodreads? do you win a lot of books? I feel like it's crazy I've won 3 paperbacks in 2 weeks. Like for Burnout there were 2000 something entries and I got one of 10 given away.

do u have a nickname?

message 280: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (j_p_higgins) hmmm... on Inkpop I go by JP Higgins. Most people call me Jess except my mother who calls me Jessi or Ellie May (because everyday as I walked home from the bus there would be a new dog or cat following me home and I have lots of pets now). I used to get redhead nicknames, but now my hair has faded into a dirty blonde so I don't hear those so much anymore. Yea... that's all I got, nothing terribly exciting.

What about you?

message 281: by Mariana (new)

message 285: by Jessica (last edited Nov 02, 2011 09:47AM) (new)

Jessica (j_p_higgins) I started to make it my name on here - I think in my first post I had that as my name but I changed it pretty quick since I figured I would probably mention my name as Jessica hahaha I've confused you too much... but really I think I only had it that way when I made my first post and I mentioned in the post that my name was Jessica. I'm surprised you would remember that.

I'm not changing any of that again though promise!

oooohhh...GOD u really are confusing me with ur new pics, and names...my memory is very good! i was thinking of adding my middle name to my prof...

message 287: by Jessica (last edited Nov 02, 2011 11:06AM) (new)

Jessica (j_p_higgins) yea I suppose I should have mentioned it - i just didn't expect anyone to remember. If I decide to add any new pics, I just won't mess with the profile pic so the icon will stay the same. I was thinking of using JP Higgins as a penname though for whatever I write... what do you think? what's your middle name?

message 288: by Daphne, Prima Aphrodite (new)

yeah lyk a pseudonym right?i agree! its a good name 4 an author!
